Stopped here enroute South and agree with other reviews that it is not really 4* but for one night it was ok. Location was handy to visit the much more expensive area of Biarritz. The rooms were quite basic but fairly clean and parking was free which is a real bonus.

Although classed as a 4 star hotel, I would say that it must have just about made the rating. Overall the hotel was a little drab and the staff although helpful, seemed slightly indifferent at times. We stayed here as part of a ten day trip around the Basque area. All the hotels we stayed in were 4 star, but... More

Good location by the river and a short walk to the old town. It has free parking and wifi however do not be deluded by it's 4* rating. It is at best exhausted and in need of a revamp despite the their website claiming it has been fully renovated. Our 'classic' room was tiny, dark and humid, the air conditioning... More

I accept I booked a double bed, basic room. However as a four star hotel I would expect some things being basic to what that means! The room was miniscule - so much so that the double bed was just a standard British size double bed - I haven't experienced this in a double room in a hotel for years.... More

The location is lovely, on the river and an easy walk to restaurants. The staff were fantastic and had our key packs ready at check-in. All hotels should be this efficient! But don't let the name fool you; this is a budget hotel, nothing at all special or fancy about it. Our room was extremely basic with barebones decor. It... More

we decided to stop off in Bayonne on our way back from Spain. Firstly we chose this hotel because it had secure parking. Secondly its a hop, skip and a jump to the centre. Initally we were going to stay the one night, but after going out for a meal in the evening and seeing the town, decided to stay... More

I'm not a great fan of modern hotels. They are invariably clean, comfortable and have helpful and well-trained staff. They also unfortunately have issues with noise. If it's not next door's toilet flushing it's noisy air-conditioning. Le Bayonne is in an excellent location (just a short stroll along the river from the town centre), has secure parking, good staff, decent... More

Excellent location for city centre and for Bayonne rugby stadium. Friendly staff, rooms quite small but big enough. Bayonne is an interesting city and the Basque people are helpful when your French fails!

We stayed for one night - the room was small but perfectly well appointed. Good location, easy walking distance to restaurants and bars. Front desk was very good and the hotel had good wifi and ample parking.

This hotel is an ideal stopover if u r driving to Spain. It's centrally located, and close to bars and restaurants. The room was small but perfectly adequate for one night. Very clean with decent shower and comfy bed. Would stay here again. Staff spoke good English and were very welcoming.

Thank Liz T
