We were so excited to arrive at the Intercontinental, the hotel is stunning from outside, driving up and leaving the car with the concierge right outside the front door felt very special, our luggage was taken along with the car keys and it all started very well, we were told we had been upgraded because we had our baby with... Under the new Intercontinental brand, this illustrious hotel is looking to join in with Bordeaux's renewed touristic vigour. Service was excellent and proudly bilingual (I suspect they get their fair share of Anglophones! Rooms are very old school in terms of lustrous velvets and swooning curtains, but it's all part of the fun. The spa with its counter-current little swimming... More

We flew in from Portugal 2 weeks into a 5 week holiday.. A friend had recommended this hotel for all the right reasons.. Location-Location-Reputation.. We were immediately reassured when at arrival we were able through the expeditious assistance of the Concierge to arrange at short notice a private tour of nearby fabled wine makers and the regional towns with their... OK so this hotel interior is dark but not the welcoming! we were welcomed at Reception and I was recognised for my IHG status so offered room upgrade which was nice but dread to think what room was like that I had originally booked. I think all rooms must be dark (unless on the front overlooking large square), as street... More

Really enjoyed our stay here. Were upgraded to a junior suite which was fantastic - had beautiful views of the opera house. Great breakfasts - love the chef who could multitask and make anything from poached eggs to pancakes. Luxurious bed and bathroom very clean. Service friendly but very professional. Can highly recommend. The only downside was the pool/terrace wasnt... More

As a surprise for my girlfriend I took her to Bordeaux.(she only knew where we were going once we were in the plane and on the air) At first she couldn't believe it, she actually refused to get inside the hotel as she thought it was a prank, who wouldn't such beautiful building I must say. What is funny is... More

This hotel has a load of history. It's in the best location a hotel can be in Bordeaux. It has a lovely old world charm about it. However, once you get to the guests rooms, be aware that they are dark and dingy. Really depressing! I just couldn't stand hanging out in the room. We loved Bordeaux, but if we... More

As an avid traveler in this trip I visited seven countries and stayed in fifteen five stars hotels, and the Hotel Le Grand Hotel Intercontinental stands among the best. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment you step by the door, they break the good service standard making every guest feel welcome and cherished. The location cannot... More

The service from the we will park your car to the check in, the restaurants, breakfast, spa drinks overlooking the city etc. are first class plus. We loved our suite and the bed and... More

I really love this hotel. I can't think of one thing it lacks and now it's an intercontinental. The location across from the Opera House is superb. The rooms are quiet and tasteful. The staff is warm, friendly and perfect. I will always stay here. And the chocolate shop off the lobby, magnifique. And did I mention Gordon Ramsey's restaurant... More
