Detailed Reviews
This hotel could have been stunning but covid had badly affected the business which is a shame. There is no longer a restaurant which was apparently very good in its heyday. To still be advertising the restaurant is not fair to people who travel a long way hoping for a good meal on arrival. The place is comfortable. Breakfast was ok very average but the poor owner was serving so many people on his own. Bar not open.

During our stay our car was locked in a Carpark in Bergerac. It was totally due to our limited knowledge of French but all the same very traumatic. The manager of Hotel La Flambé was most helpful and went out of his way to get the car released. Our sincere thanks to the hotel staff for their help.

Stayed for one night as a stop over on the way the south of France.
Upon arrival everything looked a bit tired. The tennis courts looked like something out of Chernobyl ! Upon entering our room ( Not in the main house ) it reminded me of a cave ! Large bathroom and decent shower. Acceptable for a 1 night, but didn't quite look like the pictures !

I had the misfortune of staying in one of the annex rooms. On arrival it was clear it hadn't been used recently as it smelt musty. For some reason there were no curtains on the curtain rails, there were no bedside lamps, and the patio door only half opened onto the bed, and was the only source of fresh air.
The musty smell in the room stayed all night, In the morning I went to dry my face after a shower and the towel itself was horribly musty.
To add insult to injury, when I explained this to the owner he went on the attack, blaming me and saying he'd run the hotel for 15 years without complaint.
He pointed at the card machine and said "do it!" To make sure i paid before I left.
I am not used to being treated like this as a customer. Its quite a shock when it happens.
I'm sure that some of the rooms here are lovely, and the grounds look nice, but I didn't stick around to find out. As the smell of the room had woken me up at 6, I ended up checking out at 8:15. Not how I expected to spend relaxing holiday!!!!!

Staff friendly, nice setting, not to far from the station and airport. Overall decent. Two things to bare in mind. The rooms have no air con so ours was very warm at night. The restaurant is excellent but is very local in focus. The food is therefore very much based on goats cheese, foie gras and confit duck. We ate here and I thought it was good quality with decent value local wine. But it is worth checking if the menu suits your party. We stayed a few days and tee staff were polite and attentive, easy to get in Bergerac so worth considering.

We stayed for three days at La Flambee and were thoroughly charmed. Our room was simple but nice, but the selling point is the really nice location and the garden surrounding the hotel. Here you can meet the charming hen visiting you while you take your aperitive, you met the occasional baby deer walking by, and meet with the pigs and piglets in their generous compound. The swimming pool, surrounded by well-kept trees and hedges, invites for a relaxing swim. Last but not least we found the staff very charming and helpful.

I stayed with my daughter as part of a cycling tour. The location was on the outskirts of town, which suits those that have transport. Otherwise, it may not be central enough for some wishing to be in centre of town. As we rode into the long driveway, we realised that the hotel is a beautiful animal sanctuary in part. There were free range goats, chickens and other animals featured on the acreage property. The driveway led around to the accommodation, where we came upon gorgeous manicured gardens, pebbled paths leading to several buildings. The reception is adjacent to a rustic, formal dining room for breakfast and dinner. Our bedroom was in a separate building of a couple of storeys. Fortunately for us, we were located on the ground floor with our heavy luggage. The room was furnished beautifully. We ate dinner in the restaurant, and the food was of a high standard along with excellent service and dinnerware. The meals looked extremely appetising in their presentation and did not disappoint. A pure gem of a place to stay.

I booked as it was about right for an overnight stay traveling from Tours to Bielsa in Spain. Arrived at La Flambee about 6 o'clock very tired, to a charming and friendly reception. The room was excellent and very quiet, perfect for the sleep we needed before continuing our journey.
The hotel gardens are absolutely gorgeous, with various animals wandering about. We said hello to the horses and pigs. We studied the menu with a nice glass of white wine, and with helpful advice chose a nicely presented and perfectly cooked meal, accompanied by an excellent local wine.
We both would have stayed another night if we could have, after some fairly disappointing experiences elsewhere in France.
To sum up: the most enjoyable hotel in France by far in our week there. Living in Spain, France seems an expensive country to us, but La Flambee was really excellent value. The very nice room was very affordable, and the cost/value of the evening meal was absolutely excellent. Highly recommended.

An absolutely delicious meal, so much so I came back again during my short stay in Bergerac.
Great service provided here, English menu available and the staff were able to speak English too. A 20 minute walk from the center of Bergerac but it was well worth it.
Had the steak with magical potato gratin.
