This hotel is first class. It is a converted small chateau set in its own grounds with additional accommodation in outbuildings. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and this even includes the large Doberman. Ideally you need a car as the hotel is nearly half an hour's walk from the centre of Bergerac along a pavement by the main...

The meal we enjoyed here was one of the best we have had in the area. The menus are reasonably priced and the fish backboard specials are really inovative and well cooked. The service is efficient and the staff very welcoming. The wine list is comprehensive and includes lots of local wines. Definately worth a visit if you are celebrating...

Just beside the road and next to a garage. Does not sound like the countryside, but La Flambee has created a bucolic retreat. Rooms are basic - but quiet and clean despite some mould in the shower tiling. Get over it - it's only mould. Dinner and the wine list were excellent despite somewhat over cooked langoustine: everything else was...

I agree with previous reviews that if luxury modern rooms are your style then this hotel is not for you. The rooms we had were large, comfortable and clean with updated bathrooms. We had rooms facing the busy main road but this was relatively quiet at night. The food is excellent with a daily changing offering of fresh fish. Most...

The hotel is not very far from the centre of Bergerac (5-10mins by car and i did not see any buses throughout my time there) but it seems like a different world when you enter its grounds. Its a haven of peace and calm. The rooms were clean and decorated in a style in keeping with the hotel's age. The...

On arrival we were impressed with how lovely and typically French the building was I think the hotel is more than 200 years old without much renovation. Our room was very basic, but clean, however our bed was slightly uncomfortable, Bathroom clean, excellent shower and quite spacious. Quite impressed with the quality of food in the Restaurant , but it...

If you can cope with the rough edges then this is not a bad place. Our room faced the back of the hotel and did not get any of the noise from the very busy main road on the other side. Our room had clearly been updated in recent times, was clean, comfortable but there were still signs of the...

We were disappointed by this hotel. It has a nice graden and a pleasant garden(although too close to the main road), but the service is really bad: we had to wait a long time in the restaurant to be served, and the same happened at brakfast. Our room was small and there were no lights for reading in bed. The...

DREADFUL dated rooms, clearly not updated since about 1960 as they still have plastic padded, studded doors. DREADFUL food, so bad I could not eat it and left the whole plateful. Walls dirty, carpet dirty, etc... Rock hard matress, thin walls, telly from next room & snoring from same room disturbed us. 2 nights of hell.... 2 miles outside Bergerac...which...

New shower and and bathroom. Lovely location on out-skirts of bergerac. Weather a bit hit and miss. Bergerac lovely town for a weekend away. We stayed...
