This has to be the best b&b/hotel I’ve ever stayed in.
I had seen the reviews online before I booked but it has exceeded my expectations and is perfectly situated within a 5 minute walk into Bergerac centre.
I was in a suite overlooking the pool which was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean with a wonderful shower and bathroom. Plus a dressing room and a fabulous lounge with a smart tv with Netflix and comfortable sofa.
The bed, pillows and bedding were top quality and the air con was very welcome in the heat wave.
A tray of tea/coffee was available also in the room.
The breakfast room was on the balcony overlooking the pool surrounded by Persian silk trees. It was all home made jams and fresh bread/fruit with smoked salmon salmon and cheeses plus a home made cake by the owner himself that was delicious!
A wonderful pool area set in the garden grounds is the perfect finishing touch.
Wonderful hosts and a real authentic old hotel. I wish I could have stayed longer.
I would highly recommend without hesitation.
Thank you to the hosts for a wonderful stay

As extremely picky travellers we had been searching for accommodations with quality, style and sophistication — we were extremely lucky to have found Clos d’Argenson on a few ‘best accommodations’ lists online.
Upon arrival, we were pleasantly greeted with a magnificent Manor House that is beautifully adorned with interesting art and antique furniture. We stayed in the Rosette room which was impeccably furnished with more eccentric and interesting mix of modern and antique pieces. Smartly curated art also! Also room size was extremely generous and amenities such as modern bathroom fixtures, large wardrobe and air conditioning as carefully considered decisions when outfitting the room for a luxurious experience.
The grounds and common areas were equally beautiful from the breakfast terrace overlooking the grounds to the pool and garden area filled with gorgeous plants and striking Persian silk tree. Francois, JL and his sister were amazing hosts from preparing homemade breakfast to booking the best restaurants in town.
I cannot continue on enough about how incredible the experience was. I spend a tremendous amount of time around the world in hotels and this is most certainly a highlight. Please find a reason to get to Bergerac to spend a few nights in this property for a memorable experience.

We stayed a whole week and we couldn’t fault anything. The house is beautiful, tasteful and extremely interesting. Our suite was really comfortable with every amenity one could wish for. Knowing my husband ha a mild mobility problem, we were given a suit that made things as easy for him as possible. Although the house is in the center of the town, it was very quiet. The rooms were kept to the highest standards of cleanliness. The garden and pool were extremely well-kept, giving us further enjoyment. Breakfast has to be seen to be believed, it was more of a feast than a breakfast. Our hosts made us very welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them. My only disappointment is having to do home!

We had such an amazing stay at Le Clos d’Argenson. The location is right in the town center of Bergerac, near all the restaurants. It is an easy drive or train ride (walkable to train station) to Bordeaux or Sarlat. The inn is beautiful and well maintained. Gorgeous building and surroundings. Rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable and the air conditioning worked very well. Great showers and bathrooms too. The pool is beautiful and a nice addition. Breakfast was fresh and amazing: home-made yogurt, fresh fruit, bakery breads/croissants, fresh meats and cheeses and delicious, daily home baked pastries along with coffee/tea. Eating breakfast on a shaded patio overlooking the pool and nature was a treat. The owners are so nice and accommodating. They even moved the umbrella for us when they noticed the sun changing position. Every detail was provided: flip flops, sun screen, towels for the pool, comfortable lounge chairs and water misters. I would definitely recommend this quiet and beautiful retreat for anyone exploring the region. We can’t wait to return. Thank you for making our vacation so memorable and enjoyable.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We stayed for three nights and had a wonderful time. The room was beautiful, the poolside immaculate and the breakfasts were really special.
It’s a shame they don’t let guests join you for a swim as we really wanted to show off the place to friends staying nearby.

I have stayed at many different types of properties in France and, without a doubt, Le Clos d’Argenson embodies the very best this county has to offer. The location is great, right in Bergerac. It’s easy to get to Bordeaux and to visit Sarlat/Rocamadour. Bergerac is big enough to have many of the amenities at your fingertips (stores/restaurants). It is also served by a small airport with direct flights to London, which was very convenient. The house itself is wonderful: the rooms are spacious, the amenities impeccable, the swimming pool provides a refreshing break from the heat. The art work in the house represents a museum, a curated collection of beautiful pieces sprinkled throughout the house. The honesty bar is a great addition, as we were able to grab wine/beer/snacks whenever we wanted and pay at the end. The breakfast is a highlight and a great start to the day: fresh pastries, home-made cakes, cheese, jams, bread, coffee, all served in a beautiful terrace overlooking the pool. But by far, the best part of our stay was meeting Jean-Luc and François, the owners of the property. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and we enjoyed our conversations as we took advantage of the pool or had an aperitif in the beautiful garden. All in all, one of the most pleasant stays I’ve ever had in France and I recommend this place 100%! Do not hesitate, book right now and start enjoying your vacation in this idyllic haven. You will not regret it!

Excellent one night stay. Charming property, charming hosts . On site secure parking ( limited) . Breakfast excellent. Everything was ultra clean . The restaurant recommendations were perfect. Couldn’t have been better. Breakfast and the the chat over breakfast were most enjoyable. Looking forward to staying again and trying out the pool. Thanks Jean Luc

A beautiful stay for two nights. Perfect hosts, beautiful setting, stunning architectural room and a very generous breakfast. An altogether memorable experience. The building has an interesting classical design, the pool area and honesty bar were a welcome relaxing area after walking around the city

This bed and breakfast is superb. Great location in the old town of Bergerac close to lots of good restaurants. Lovely hosts and breakfast is delicious with homemade cake and yogurt. I have even bought a yogurt maker to emulate madams homemade yogurt. We stayed for 4 nights and it such a lovely break.
