This pretty mill, allthough set in the middle of the town, is set down below the road under an arched bridge that drips with hanging ivy. When you are in the garden you wouldn't know that the town is there as you sit and listen to the trickling water as it lazily passes over the wooden wheel.
They accept animals in the ground floor rooms that are simple, with terracotta tiled floor and white decor. Another great advantage is that these rooms have an independent door to outside without having to pass through the main lobby.
The staff were very kind and the Russian lady went out of her way to be helpful.

Sadly there is no way of making your own tea /coffee in the bedroom and I regretted asking for a cup of tea (1 teabag and a pot of hot water) as it cost me €4.55!

We didn't eat in the restaurant whilst there, though we did have breakfast on both of the two days which is served in the mill room of the restaurant. It was fine though nothing to write home about. I was a little disappointed as it was quite ordinary ... some bread and jam, some wet, pink rolled ham and slices of emmenthal or goats cheese and some plain yoghurts or compote. Big machine that made coffee, chocolate etc. A bit too standard and something you might find in a Formula 1. I must say that the croissants were very good though!
I hope they may up their game on this front, but otherwise it was a lovely place to stay. They do have parking in front of the hotel and another spot for the restaurant if in front of the hotel is full.

The hotel is in a lovely, picturesque, peaceful location. You can sit outside by the stream and watch the ducks and damselflies. The building itself, an old watermill still with water wheel, is characterful. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was optional (paid extra) for our stay - it is a simple French style breakfast - again you can sit outside on the terrace by the stream. The owners are friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring the prehistoric art sites of the Vezere valley: Lascaux, Font de Gaume, Combarelles, Cap Blanc and Rouffignac are all within 20 minutes drive. The hotel is in the heart of Les Eyzies village, only a couple of minutes walk from the superb Museum of Prehistory and several nice restaurants. Highly recommended.

Beautiful location near a stream and surrounded by nature. The staff was really nice and professional. The experience was magical and the rooms are really clean. Breakfast was also suitable for people who are celiac, you just need to ask in advance.

I really enjoy my stay here. The setting is amazing, just far off the Main Street but still in a quiet place. The owner is lovely and really helpful, it is kind of family run as the son was helping there as well.

Nothing to complain about the room. We had planned to visit the caves nearby but they were closed unfortunately, so we went to Roussignac instead and really enjoy those, it’s just 20 mins away. I would definitely recommend this place.

It's been a few years - but the meal we had at Au Vieux Moulin was one of the best we've had in France. The food was terrific and the service was very friendly. My wife had the magret as the main course and I had duck confit. Her magret came in a truffle sauce that was outstanding. Salads with gizzard confit and walnut oil were excellent. Warm goat cheese on toasted walnut bread made for a great finish to a terrific meal.

This has to be the most relaxing place in the whole of the south of France. The scenery is gorgeous, all for not much more than 50 Euros a night.

You look down from your room over a flowing stream and water wheel with grassy banks to sit on, and enjoy the Dordogne way of life.

And the food! The gastronomique restaurant is magnificent yet casual by the grassy banks, with truly delicious meals at a reasonable price. I'm so impressed, my wife and I are going back this July. Merci magnifique Moulin de la Beaune.

The setting is wonderful. The running water in the stream was so soothing, I took a nap -- I rarely reach such a level of relaxation. The owners and staff were very pleasant and helpful with taxis and like matters. But, hey, the reason to go here is that the robust food is served with great professionalism and makes the demi-pension a bargain. Please don't arrive expecting a large or fancy room. But if you're in search of an charming, affordable hotel at which you can settle into a sumptuous 2-3 hour dinner each night, look no further.

Stayed in this charming small hotel for 8 days while we explored the Dordogne. It was originally an old mill and still has a working water wheel in the garden which is charming. The room rate was unbelievably cheap. The only down side was no air conditioning. The rooms were small but charming with some opening out onto a small terrace and garden. It was a wonderful place to return to each night and enjoy a glass of wine on the lawn by the stream. The restaurant had a lovely terrace overlooking the garden. The food was brilliant, the duck the best and the truffle sauce absolutely divine! We ate there most nights - a fantastic chef - Its worth being there for the food alone!! The room rate is so cheap you can afford to eat in this wonderful restaurant each night. Highly recommended.

Having booked more than 1 month in advance, we were surprise to have received the worst room in the place. It may have been because we were only staying one night on our last day of biking in the Dordogne and we were not 55+ like all the other clientele! While the room was clean, it was very small, with a miniature bathtub and no ambiance whatsoever despite the overall quaintness of the rest of the place. We also had an open window to the front entrance and the bridge, which made it difficult to sleep with light and noise. While the rate was less than other inns in town, spend a little more and save yourself the grief!

The staff were surly, ignorant and unsmiling on entering into the restaurant, we asked 3 times for a table and were ignored until the owner appeared. The food was only acceptable and nothing special. The menu was intended for you to pay a lot as the choice was either 19 euros or 48 euros, nothing reasonable. we wondered if the low price offering was to get people in or to meet some french regulation.

The house white wine was expensive at 23 euros when we had the same at different restaurants in sarlat at 12 and 13 euros repectively. We had to ask for bread and water and was ignored when we asked for more later on.
I would not recommend any one to go here.
