This hotel, restaurant and spa is really fabulous. The staff spoke fluent English which was particularly helpful given our limited French. The room was one of the best we have stayed in (junior suite) so comfy with luxury toiletries and quiet air con overlooking the splendid gardens. The Michelin star restaurant was fabulous and they catered perfectly for my 9 year old son who had his first ever Michelin meal and loved it!
The pool and gardens are stunning and well maintained.
We didn’t try the spa ( a regret) but so much to see and do in the area it kept us busy!
I can’t recommend this hotel enough. It’s a true gem in the heart of the dordogne and well worth the money we spent staying there. Huge thanks to all the staff!

Nestled in the Dordorgne valley on the edge of the hamlet of Les Eyzies (home to the caves of our forefathers ~ Cro Magnon) Les Glycines is now a Michelin star rated hotel. My family stayed there for three nights in 3 clean, fresh, quiet, air-conditioned rooms. Camille, the energetic and welcoming front desk lady, was very helpful. We had dinner at the beautiful terrace overlooking the gardens and pool. The dinner was delicious, and the the attention to every detail was impressive. Service, location, friendliness and attentiveness were all excellent. I will be back, and take advantage of the spa next time!

Excellent location at the end of the town and walkable to village restaurants and the museum. The hotel seemed newly renovated. Our room adjoined a well manicured park. The decor is contemporary and comfortable. Dinner at the gourmet restaurant was excellent but the breakfast was disappointing with too few choices for the price.

Three of us went to the Bistrot at "Les Glycines" hotel for a birthday lunch. We live in another village and decided to try some thing out of our usual restaurant choices. We had a truly fantastic lunch, the food was excellent and perfectly prepared and well-described for what it was, but it was the service that topped everything. Alain was our main waiter, and he was attentive, responsive and genuinely engaging with a great smile, and he attended to everything we requested. Bravo to the young waitstaff team we had - it made a great experience just fantastic. We would definitely return for the food (excellent hot foie gras) and ambience, but mostly because of a positive service experience with Alain and his female colleague.

Arrival was a dream as I had stayed before but this was in the heat of summer and that pool beckoned . in a terraced suite at the end of the row. table of 4 to 6, entry with day bed table for 2, up a step to the bed area and beyond to the lovely bathroom. The grounds here are extensive going back where one gets a view of an old fortrification and the bee hives. The huge pool area with ample seating, suntanning area. The food again was devine and service with Simon highly personable.

the hotel is located is a calm area though i think not far away from the station. This is simply an ideal hotel to get away from city life with a superb garden and swimming pool. The staff is more than nice and helpful. Breakfast table provides a lot of choice. The rooms are perfectly clean but also decorated with taste as are the other rooms and the magnificient rest rooms/bar at the entrance. the bed might be a bit small (room 22) but it didn't bother us at all. the hotel has a parking space for approx. 12 cars. The restaurant serves also delicious and innovative meals: if you're really hungry, order the menu as portions are sufficient enough but not over. a perfect stay !

Hotel Les Glyzines is located a few steps from the small train station. It is a very pleasant family hotel, the staff is kind and helpful. We had a room with 3 beds, clean and with air condition.
I liked the location very much. My children enjoyed the swiming pool, the station of canoes is just crossing to the river, it was good to be so close to the hotel when we came out of canoe. To go to the town it is necessary to walk 10 minutes beside the river, that stroll was very nice to do. I highly recommend this hotel. It is perfectf for people who goes by train and for families.

Having read previous reviews on Trip Advisor, I was nervous when my tour group booked us into this property for 5 nights. I was particularly concerned about the mold issues some travelers had noted. I was pleased that my room in the garden wing was ok, but others in my group, who had ground floor rooms under the dining room in the main building did have mold. Allegedly these rooms are scheduled for remodeling next year, but not sure what that means. It does seem that they may remodel one room at a time. Some rooms had heated towel racks which could be used to dry clothes or warm the room. Our floor did not. The rooms were very damp and as is customary, many European properties do not heat during April or September no matter how cold it gets. The staff offered an extra blanket for the bed, but it was necessary to put on ones coat over ones nightclothes to go to the bathroom.

My room was very basic, with a double bed with a good mattress, and a tiny desk and two closets. No surface space, no drawers, no bedside tables, only a tiny shelf. My bathroom had a metal etagere on which I could put things, other rooms did not. I would suggest you ask to see your room before accepting it if a private guest as there is a wide variation.

A couple who just drove up paid $92 Euros for their room, much lower than the rates posted on the door.

The property itself sits on a lovely piece of property at the far end of the town near the river. It's about 1/4 mile into town, about 1/2 mile to the main part of town. It sits near a park by the river. There is some road noise in rooms that front the road. It sits on a huge garden with swimming pool, none of which is handicapped accessible. The lower floor in my wing (stairs only) had access to a lovely converted mews area with plants and tables at which to sit out. This part was idyllic.

There is a nice wooden deck lounge overlooking the garden and you can dine either on the terrace or in the enclosed dining room. There is a cosy bar which seats about 20 and is well decorated. This is a former post house/coaching inn situation. It is right by the little railroad station, but with only 3 trains a day, this was not a big deal.

The restaurant has a narrow menu, about 5 items in each category and is very expensive. $50 dinners without wine. Liquor here was 3 times the price of other restaurants in the other French villages we had passed thru. Breakfast is $20 (14 euros) for coffee, bread, ham, yoghurt. It never changed any of the 5 mornings. Hot milk was served in a broken carafe which rendered it cold pretty quickly.

The female staff here were cheerful and connected with guests. The men seemed like Russian prisoners of war, serving unwillingly. The staff was not good at problem solving. The bathtubs were treacherously narrow, only about 14 inches of flat space to stand in when showering but they never heard of such a thing as a rubber mat. A fellow traveler suggested a towel in the bottom of the tub worked well and it did - tho the maid hung it up the next day with the clean towels, making everything wet. Maid service was a problem here - the toothbrushes were all rearranged, as was my suitcase.

No internet on property. Wifi connections were a problem for many in our group.

There is a parking lot. There are a few steps to negotiate within the property in all instances, so no go for wheelchairs.

There is a swimming pool.

I saw no air conditioning in the room. There were also no drapes to block out the daylight, just a white gauze curtain. The hotel was clean.

There is a good prehistoric museum in town, and excellent caves nearby. The small town has some souvenir shops, a post office, a pharmacy, and plenty of places to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner more cheaply than the hotel. One municipal parking lot on the main street, some street parking, crazy crowded in July and August from waht I hear.

As best I could tell, this hotel was the most high end in the town proper. If they could enhance the rooms it would be a really comfortable place. Some of our group saw the glass as half full, others as half empty. Hopefully this data helps you decide.
