The Alpenhof is run by Marc and Di who are wonderful hosts, and give this enormous house a truly family feel. The accommodation is basic, but spotlessly clean and well maintained. This place is great to use as a base for days out walking or skiing in the close-by resorts. The cable car is a stones throw away and gives...

We stayed at the Alpenhof for a few nights as part of a long trip and it's the place that we all voted to return to as soon as we can. The location is stunning with lovely walks right from the door, the facilities are spotless and the owners, Diane and Marc, are warm, welcoming, helpful and generally lovely people...

Was a great place to stay in the Swiss Alps. On the side of the hill. Room was large with a sitting room as well as the bedroom. Good breakfast. Walk down the hill to shopping and restaurants. Beautiful views every where around you. They will drive you down the hill to the train. Great place with great views.

My mom and I stayed in the Alpenhof for four nights in July 2016 and we could have stayed four months! Diane and Marc are wonderful people who couldn't have been kinder, the rooms are simple with spectacular views over the Lauterbrunnen valley and we really enjoyed all the people we met. This is one of the best places I've...

This is a traditional Swiss B&B off the usual tourist areas, in a small village. Very nice staff, clean rooms, a newer building. Good breakfast, no need for A/C. Limited restaurant choices, all pricey, the Alpenhof restaurant was closed the day I was there.

If you're looking for a 5 star hotel, then is not for you. However, if you are looking for a hostel type establishment, set in the most beautiful of settings then the Alpenhof is the place to stay. We stayed here as we were playing country music at the nearby Interlaken Truck Show. Nothing was too much trouble for the...

I cannot speak highly enough of Diane and Marc. They made me feel instantly at ease, as if I had known them for years! The other guests I bumped into seemed to feel the same way too. The Alpenhof is a flawlessly clean, comfortable and practical place to stay. Personally, I really liked the age and low-tech state of the...

Our family of 3 had a wonderful time with Marc, Diane and of course Ellen! We loved the location--walking distance to the (free) bus that takes you to the gondola to Murren. We skied/played in Murren every day and enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the house. The kitchen is incredible (everything and more)--just bring food. Breakfast was very nice and...

This was my second trip to Alpenhof. We went last year and when I was told they were full when I wanted to visit this year, I changed my itinerary so that I could stay. It's a cross between an hotel and a youth hostel, with breakfast provided but no dinner. You can self cater in the well equipped kitchen....

This was a very unique experience especially if you're from the U.S. It was one of the most relaxing places we stayed during our 3 week European adventure. The views out our windows were simply amazing! The Alpenhof is located at the end of the Lauterbrunnen valley. You actually have to drive past the "no cars" sign to get to...
