we had a short stay but was lovely . rooms are comfortable

A great hotel for anyone wishing to be pampered by friendly, attentive staff in a beautiful, tranquil setting. The restaurant has a good menu and the food is excellent. The rooms are cozy, albeit small and the wifi can be a bit poor.
The lady who welcomed us was friendly (forgot her name) but she said she's Algerian, she helped me lug my luggage to the second floor

Hi. I know the area well. Avallon is the nearest town and ten minutes by cab to the lovely hotel. But it's a longish trek from Paris necessitating a change at Auxerre and maybe one other. I suggest you use google to check intineraries and schedules. Vezelay by cab is doable and I'm sure the lovely folk at Les Ruats could point you in the right direction for a wine tour. Good luck.
