Detailed Reviews
We have been staying for about a week in Sy Glycines in a comfortable and nicely decorated room, very quiet, well equipped and with a very nice view on the charming houses of Vezelay. We were located 200 m away from the basilique. The bed was comfortalbe. The staff was extremely nice and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, plenty enough and with a variety of things to eat, we were nearly fed for the whole day ! We will keep good memories of our stay in this hotel. We can surely recommend it.

Great stay, nice room but bit small, great dinner in the restaurant of the hotel. Breakfast was a bit simple.....the host(s) were friendly and truly helpful and professional. The location has no parking and the local parking needs some instructions....

My family (2 adults and 2 kids) had a wonderful stay in two rooms for one night. The location was perfect, and on our first evening we strolled around the basilica grounds, and took in the view of the countryside. We had one of our best ever dining experiences eating outside as the sun set. Food was incredible, finished off with some alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails. It was a magical evening. The waitors were very friendly and made the experience more magical. Our rooms were newly furnished, clean and very smart.
We drove to the hotel door, dropped our suitcases, then parked in the pay and display behind the bassilica.
The hotel dealt very well with a mistake that I had made with my booking.
Photo taken just after dawn, when I went out for a beautiful quiet walk.

We got room 206 which turned out very small and with a wooden roof construction that was hampering us to stand up and walk around the bed. If you are below 170 cm it is no problem, but if you are tall never accept this room. The bathroom is tiny. For a stop-over in Vezelay, the beautiful village with the cathedral, it is a nice spot. The woman at the reception was very kind. Breakfast was okay. But again, be aware of the ultra-small rooms on the 2nd floor.

Quite room, last floor, nice view on the roofs and the basilique. We were recommended to have diner at SY L Terasse nearby, excllent experience and good food. So indeed a nice experience.
Room was well priced, though breakfast not included and indeed to costly (15€/pax) for this type of hotel.

A charming old building located in the Basilica Square, with a little leafy courtyard to enjoy tasteful meals.
Contemporary rooms with a local touch and great bathrooms, our had a large Italian shower.
Steps to go up the rooms, so be prepared and choose a first floor if it is a challenge for you.
Parking easy to get to and close to the hotel.
Good WiFi.
Very kind owners and staff.

We ate at the SY La Terrasse but stayed at its twin SY Les Glycines only a few strides from each other. So we can comment only on the restaurant SY La Terrasse. A very cozy restaurant, with delicious food and attentive and nice service. In the evening you will be smitten by the Basilique when you leave the restaurant. Good value for money.

The reception was warm, the room spacious and charming yet with all the amenities you could ask for. Bed extremely comfortable, lovely view from the window. And the restaurant was superb! Not to mention that Vézelay is a must-see in Burgundy.

We had a wonderful 2 nights at Sy La Terasse. The hotel was full of character and the rooms well priced. Our opinion of the teeny town was initially - oh my gosh what will we do here for 2 days (also a question we heard someone ask at reception when we checked out). Well, what a delight. I am a shopper and didn't miss shopping at all. In fact, I didn't go into any shops. The Basilica was simply beautiful and the choir song of nuns a delight. We took the car and drove to the most beautiful surrounding towns - greenery and wild flowers everywhere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A spiritual place (hence the Camino) - highly recommended for someone who wants to rest, take stock and just be.

Perfect location at the centre of the small city of Vezelay in the burgundy hills. Very nice and helpful personnel. Small rooms, but nothing missing. View to the basilica from one room, the other was looking over the place before the basilica.
