Nice people working there, they helped us with information about public transport to Chenonceau castle. Very good breakfast, good location. Hotel is clean, in the good shape, even charming. Only minus is the very bad wi-fi signal, almost unusable (we were in the room number 1)

We checked in with our bikes and straight away we were shown a room we could store them - inside, secure, with racks and some provision for repair. Then they showed us the room which we remarked was a little small so without question they assigned us a bigger room. English was not a problem nor was the free wifi....

i stayed here for 3 nights and made Amboise as a base to visit the Loire valley. The hotel is centrally located walking distance from the chateau and good restaurants. The staff is very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. I felt at home during my stay here. Would definitely come back here on...

This hotel had a great buffet breakfast, which isn't always the case as France seems to favor continental breakfasts. The location was convenient...we could walk to everything in town. The room was small but it's a budget hotel so it's expected. Shower was good and there were two WIFI plug-ins. The helpful owner walked with us to our rental car...

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hotel Chaptal. The room was recently renovated and very comfortable, with a beautiful bathroom and new (probably IKEA) bed/desk set. It's very well located next to the pedestrian area and tourist office. 20 minute walk from train station. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. I felt like I was getting incredible value for the...

Good value for money, close to the chateau, for parking is not the best bu we found one at 800 mt which was free. Rooms were OK. For the evening a code to get in was needed. We didn't puchased the breakfast as it was quite costly

This small hotel is well located - just a short walk to the castle and town center. The staff was friendly but only one person spoke English and we only saw her once. . However the rooms were quite small, and the wifi really only worked in the common area. I would not recommend this hotel for older people or...

Enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Chaptal, with our genial hosts. This seems to be a small family business, the young lady that greeted us was helpful and had a good grasp of English, which helped us immensely, as we have just a small knowledge of French...we thought it was more until we got to France....so nice to have someone...

Stayed here three nights and was very happy with the location.....close to the town centre and within walking distance of a few local highlights. Amboise is a lovely town, however parking near the hotel is a challenge as it doesn't have its own parking and there are only a few free long term places a street or two away. My...

I'll start off by saying I mostly look for hotels that are clean, in a safe area, offer a decent breakfast and have good wi-fi. This hit the mark on all of those except the wi-fi. It worked great in the common area, actually lightning fast and better than anywhere I've had in Europe and maybe even faster than I...
