Azay is one of the smallest and most intimate of the chateau towns in the Loire and Hotel de Biencourt occupies a plum position one of its lovely stone-built streets: it’s just metres from the courtyard of the chateau and closer again to the dozen or so restaurants around the heart of the village. Our room was delightful – spacious...

Great location, friendly and helpful hosts, beautiful courtyard garden to unwind after a day out. Rooms well equipped. We loved the atmosphere of the old school house. Azay-Le-Rideau is a quaint town with a lot more to offer than the castle if you take the time to walk around and look. Thoroughly enjoyed Hotel de Biencourt and would definitely stay...

The most helpful and accommodating hosts. We booked a room on the top floor; it was just perfect. This was our favourite village in France, and this hotel has no faults that we could see. Be aware that you have to park in a nearby lot; the road the hotel is on is almost pedestrian-only. Extremely close to the chateau...

We loved our stay here. A perfect location right on the door step of the Chateau in an historical building tastefully renovated and all at a very reasonable price. The owners were exceedingly helpful in garaging our bicycles, arranging laundry, providing advice on a sightseeing tour and generally making sure we were comfortable. Breakfast was a feast of local produce...

The hotel is located on a small, colorful street a very short walk from the chateau and close to the shops and restaurants of the town. The staff was very friendly and there was excellent bike storage. The rooms were bright and cheerful and the secluded patio was a nice place to have a tea in the afternoon. Breakfast was...

The choice of this hotel and even the town was completely random as it was at the end of a 3 week tour of Europe. All we wanted was somewhere interesting and relaxing before making the Channel dash. Whilst our room was small (cosy small - no7) this really wasn't an issue as we only slept in it! The location...

The rate and room was par for the course. No complaints, and everything worked. Beyond that, the owner/manager, Patrick, was genuinely caring, pleasant and warm. I dare say the best hotelier I met in France, and one of the best anywhere. He offered hot tea and coffee complimentary upon arrival and departure, took pains to give advice on what to...

Very positive experience staying here with family. Excellent location very near to the entrance to the château. Rooms were small but the beds were comfortable and the showers were very good. This was all topped off with an excellent breakfast consisting of locally sourced items.

This is a delightful bijou Hotel in the Loire . Rooms are beautifully decorated and well equipped. The breakfast includes home made apple juice which is wonderfully refreshing. Croisants and Pain au chocolate are first class and proportionately sized to avoid too much guilt. good choice of homemade jams. Access is in a pedestrian zone but delivery to the door...

This boutique hotel, right on the way to Chateau d’Azay-le-Rideau, is on a pedestrian-only street. A former convent, it has a nice patio garden in the back. We kept our wine in a shared refrigerator on the ground floor. Breakfasts are nice, as are the rooms. Parking is offsite, about a block away. Prices are a steal, and Azay-le-Rideau was...
