Idyllic location, what a pity the service, food and rooms are not up to it... Stopped for a croissant at the patisserie next door and were captivated by the view, river and park surrounding the area - we decided to ask if there was a room available - and there was, unfortunately. Nobody helped with the luggage up the wonderful,...

Great character hotel backing onto a canal. The only frustration was the wifi reception, but the walls were very thick as it is a very old building. Just used the desk downstairs by reception, which worked fine. The buffet breakfast was excellent.

Needs a visit from the hotel inspector. Absolutely nothing charming about this place. Bathroom was dirty. Bedroom was tatty with scuff marks up the walls and hardly any lighting. Terrible noise from kitchen until 11pm at night. Breakfast at more than 10 euros was a poor offering. Reception was the most unfriendly it could be. Parking is not easy until...

Everything about this hotel is fine except the bedrooms - we had two - which were unbearably hot. The location is great but in the end it's the quality of the overnight stay that counts the most and this was very poor. The weather was not very hot but the rooms were too hot to sleep in. They need to...

Really poor; the hotel was closed when we arrived after 4pm in the afternoon and no-one answered the telephone. We finally got in after 5pm (after a phone call through the tourist office). The room we had booked had been used by smokers and was totally unsuitable for us. An alternative was very poor and the hotel owners wanted to...

We stayed one night in April, arrived Sunday afternoon, do not arrive early as not open, we had a nice room in the back with view of the river and gardens, easy parking next door in public area, close to sites, and other resturants, wifi is free but impossible to log on too, so a waste of time to even...

Friends have recommended Loches, and this hotel, as a good place for an overnight stop when travelling between London and Bordeaux. It is lovely little city with beautiful castle area for a quick bit of sightseeing. Also a good range of little restaurants (from Italian to Chinese and more than enough creperies) within a few minutes walk of the hotel....

Traditional old French hotel which could do with some updating. Overlooking lovely public gardens and river at the back. Great view of this if you stood on a chair and poked your head out of the velux window. No lift, very narrow and steep stone spiral staircase (34 steps to 2nd floor) quite a challenge for older people like us,...

Sure, it's quirky, but that's the charm! We arrived around 5pm at a time when the reception desk is open and were warmly greeted. Our reservation was right there and we were given the key to our room along with the hotel key for access when the reception desk is closed. Our room was very comfortable for the 3 of...

We booked in advance One month ahead a room with 4 beds. We chose to disregard the reviews as we had stayed at the hotel before when it was a logis . We arrived at the hotel at 1530 after a 12 hr journey from the uk . The hotel was closed with a sign saying to ring x2 nos...

“Rooms at the back would be much quieter and would have river views.”
 of 5 bubbles 394JulieH, 11 Jul 2016 | Read review
“Always booked rooms facing the river and park. Room 9 on the first floor is of good size family room with a double and two single that you can join to make another double bed. The bathroom lacks proper shower as the shower is fixed 'below the knee' level. The drain cover in the bath didn't fit so we were not able to relax in the bath. Other than that, we had a restful two nights' sleep at this hotel. We would certainly come back again. ”
