Having read the reviews prior to booking we knew what to expect. We wanted a typical French experience and, aside from its extremely tired decor, it was lovely. The staff couldn't do enough for you, the evening meal of fois gras and fillet steak was AMAZING and the wine reasonably priced. Yes it is in need of a complete refurbishment...

We were part of a group of 3 couples visiting the Champagne region and stayed one night here. We selected this hotel as we desired a 'European' experience not a 'chain' hotel. It was quaint and charming - just what we wanted! The room was small but good for one night. Our room had windows overlooking the square and cathedral....

We overnighted in Epernay on our way from Annecy to Calais to visit the famous champagne houses headquartered there. The Hotel La Cloche is well located in the centre of town opposite the cathedral. It is an old traditional hotel and may need some upgrading and refurbishing. The room looked tired but comfortable with all the amenities one would need....

What a horrible place. Dirty, wallpaper peeling of the wall. Rude personnel. Actually , those jerks desire to work in that dump......I only had to spend one night! I checked in with my family, my wife, my inlaws, and my handicapped Sister-in-law. Although we booked 1 room for 3 and another room for two, they insisted that we take an...

The rooms are very small but relative to many European hotels not that unusual. We had a decent view over to some gardens and cathedral. Traffic noise is problematic with windows open. Noise from other rooms is also problematic. You'd better make sure there's not loud speaking people or snorers near by! We ate away from the hotel. You can...

The hotel rooms are very basic & small. The noise is horrendous. You can even listen to the conversations in the room next door ! And the cleaning staff are very noisy. No air conditioning, fridge, coffee maker etc. Basic breakfast. Although a great location, I would not recommend this hotel.

We travel to Epernay about once a year and have stayed in a few different hotels. We decided to stay at La Cloche for the good location, knowing the the trip advisor reviews were mixed. We aren't too fussy, when we just want a good nights sleep. We found our room to be small but adequate. We requested a room...

Booked for an overnight stay on the way back to Calais. Centrally located within easy walking distance of the centre and paid parking available opposite by the cathedral. You need to get another ticket at 9am. You get what you pay for - it is a budget hotel and the rooms are small and basically furnished, with noise from the...

The La Cloche is a nice looking building opposite the Cathedral. On the ground floor there is a restaurant (which is excellent by the way) and the hotel reception. As it's an older building there's no lift so be aware if you have mobility issues. The rooms are cheap and OK for the price. My room was fine for a...

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst driving down to the South of France. Right in the centre so you can walk around Epernay (one of my favourite French towns) Great continental breakfast, friendly owners and a great dinner. The only annoying thing is that it is on street parking. But if you are travelling without a car it is idyllic,...
