We booked this hotel, cause we wanted a cheap hotel with a nice location. It checks both of this criteria, and the Staff is super-friendly. We have paid the room for three days but on the second day we have decided to go to Sardinia. I have told the young receptionist on the second day of our stay, that we are leaving one day earlier. I was not expecting anything, i just wanted to tell her that the room will be free one day earlier. I was shocked, when she told me, that we will get our money back for the third night. We got the full refund back. I was in many, many Hotels in my life, but such kindness have I never experienced!
We enjoyed our night in this hotel. Near all main attractions, good advice from staff. However, the hotel needs a bit of TLC and a face lift. The room and decoration look tired and I wonder where the 3 stars displayed outside come from... good price during high season though.
For those looking for a clean, comfortable, safe and friendly budget hotel then this is the place for you. Yes the decor is a little tired and the shower in the room we stayed in needed a 'facial' but the water was hot and the water pressure excellent. The room was thoroughly cleaned with fresh towels and bedding provided daily if needed. The staff were friendly and helpful providing good information on Bastia and Corsica. The location is perfect to explore the town and eat at the many restaurants along the old harbour and nearby squares. We would stay again if returning to Bastia.
Support is everything when you find yourself facing a medical emergency in a place where your limited language skills fall short. I was alone, and my husband was in Bastia Hospital having undergone surgery for a fractured hip. The front desk staff all speak perfect English and were happy to phone for taxis to bring me back from the hospital as well as taking me there. Additionally, for when I took public transport, one even wrote a note in French that I could show the bus driver so that he would let me off at the closest stop. Nothing was ever too much trouble. They extended my stay on a day by day basis when I was having difficulty getting a discharge date from the hospital, even though it presented difficulties for them to keep me in the same room. Helpful and friendly at all times, regardless of how busy they were. All those other things such as great location, comfortable bed etc were good to have but were definitely secondary to my main priority which was coping with a mini crisis in a foreign place. A big thank you to them.…
We has a twin room on the 5th floor. It was simply furnished, quiet and clean with a modern bathroom with a bath and plenty of hot water. It was nice to have french doors and a side sea view. There is only a small lift that goes as far as the 4th floor then its stairs to the 5th.There is no safe ,fridge or hairdryer in the room and only liquid soap for toiletries. We found there was very limited storage space with no draws only a wardrobe.Having said this we thought the hotel represented very good value in Bastia and would recommend it as a base if you are not looking for luxury accommodation. We did not take breakfast at the hotel.
