We came in Paris for one week from Poland. The Montecristo team was perfect. They helped us to organize our stay and our meals. Is was not easy, so many restaurants are cloded. Thank you Jade, Caroline and Cassandra for your professionalism
1. Small room, we booked a superior room - it’s very small (you can’t put your suitcase down anywhere other than the bed). 2. Room layout, The toilet and bathroom are separate so you have to walk out of the toilet to the bathroom sink to wash your hands. 3. Swimming pool issues, you have to book and it’s always fully booked not available the staff make no effort to manage this well 4. Bad room service, really wanted to use room service but there is only a set menu of 10 plates available with wine, for €70, no possibility to change the plates or choose. Very strange. 5. Noise, the rooms are not sound proof you can hear street noise and the other guests slamming doors and walking around above you, I’m a deep sleeper but was woken several times 6. Poor comfort, the cushions are either very hard or very soft you get one of each and there is not additional cushions available the room, the rest of the bed is ok 7. Connectivity, there’s no speaker, way to connect your phone to the Tv and a limited number of channels all in French For the reasons above I was very disappointed with this hotel …
This was our second visit to the Monte Cristo hotel. It is in a great location, only a 20/30 minute walk to the river or the Gardens of Luxembourg. There is a great restaurant which is actually part of the hotel over the road called The Grand Dictionnaire - I highly recommend visiting - the food & service is great! We had such a lovely welcome when we arrived, the lady on reception also upgraded our room for us. Due to CV-19 we had to book private 45 minute swimming slots, which I actually much preferred than having to share the pool with others, which we did on our previous visit! The rooms are a little on the small side, but it’s not an issue - you really feel like you’re staying in a chic Parisian boutique, and it’s just so beautifully decorated & very clean! The beds are super comfy & the linen is perfect. Thank you to all the staff at Monte Cristo hotel for making our trip to Paris even more magical! We will be back! …
I rarely write reviews here, although I travel a lot. The only reason I write here, is because of the staff. The staff is so nice, helpful and welcoming. Really exceptional. They talk perfect English and go out of their way to help you. Especially the receptionist that worked Friday the 28th of February. I bought some take away pasta and it all leaked on my clothes in my bag. She helped me clean everything even though the food wasn’t from the hotel. Thank you so much for a very nice stay!!!
We stayed at the Montecristo for 4 nights in February. We had a deluxe room which for Paris was a decent size. The separate bathroom was a good size too. The room had a safe whilst a hairdryer was also provided but there was no mini fridge. The rooms was air conditioned. The hotel is stylish and feels very french. All the staff we spoke to were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very good, my only criticism was that the hot food (sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs) were always cold or lukewarm. I suspect the hot plate wasn’t working. The croissants and pains au chocolat were lovely. The cheeses and cold meats were also very good. There was orange juice, bottled water and tea/coffee was made to order. A selection of cakes, yoghurts, cereal and fruit finished off the breakfast spread. Overall, it was very nice. The hotel is less than 5 minutes from the Censier-Daubenton metro station, so getting to all the tourist sites was very easy. Nearby there are cafes and restaurants. Again, less than 5 minutes away is a busy market street, Rue Mouffetard. This is busy with loads of produce sellers, takeaways, cafes and restaurants. It has a local feel and is well worth visiting and great for dinner in the evening. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the Monte Cristo, with its very helpful and pleasant staff and great location it’s an ideal base for a Paris stay.…
