We met up with friends from Australia who were friends of the owners. It is very convenient to the Metro & the No.69 bus which will take you past many of the famous sights. The hotel is small as are the rooms which are spotlessly clean. I was quite surprised that it was fairly quiet in our room considering the...

Very nice hotel, small rooms but clean with place of storage. Bit noisy but the hotel is situated in a wonderful neighborhood and the price is very reasonable. A big disadvantage is that there isn't a safe. The staff are very helpful.

This was my first time staying in the 20th arrondissement and I would highly recommend it. Hotel Palma is situated right on Place Gambetta, which is on a good metro line, also useful bus routes. So even though it's not central, it's very convenient. (Even for an impatient person like me.) But the best part is the neighborhood. No, it...

Quite a small hotel room but adequate for a short stay. Great location near bars and outdoor entertainment and just a few yards from the metro and just 10 minutes ride to the sites. Perfect for a cheap getaway.

Stayed at the hotel for 4 days with two friends in a triple room. Room was small, but quite nice and served our purpose very well. Subway station provides easy access to places and bus 69 goes right to center of city. Plenty of breakfast places and nice restaurants were nearby. Our room was on the 4th floor so noises...

Stayed at Hotel Palma on 28-29 September when I was visiting Tenon Hospital for a surgical workshop Nice clean rooms (though small) with central location - you can drag your bags from the Gambetta station which can be reached for just 10 euros from airport. Staff is friendly and helpful - you also have bicycles to take just outside the...

Stayed two nights in August. Half an hour from the centre of Paris. Good location. Rooms basic, but clean and functional. Rooms on the front and side of hotel noisy - only single glazing. Friendly and helpful staff. Two minutes from the metro. Plenty of shops and bars/restaurants close by. Recommend Cafe Martin.

Had a function round the corner so location was perfect, we checked in and located room 14, a weird sized room. Bed was quite hard and the curtains didn't block out all the light, view was off other rooms! Shower was good, not great but not bad. Unlikely we would return to this hotel, room was €119

Good: - literally steps away from metro station (Gambetta), takes 20-30 minutes to get to sights but this didn't bother me - friendly front desk - clean room, pristine ok-sized bathroom, I didn't get that ick factor - room was modern looking enough, rooms are small but you get what you pay for - flat screen tv, I was happy...

Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighbourhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
