I booked a twin room on line and the first message I received was that the credit card does not work. This was 3 days before I was to check in. There is only a double bed if I want. This was the first hurdle at the hotel. Upon check in the room was absolutely small for 2 persons .The...

expensive for what it is, and outside my window a generator appeared to be running until about 3 in the morning?! Reasonably well located, but the hotel rooms are very small and a bit tatty - the carpet was ripped in several places.

I waited too long before making reservations for Paris last year, I accepted this. I used to live in Paris and so did not need a hotel. After that I would stay with friends so I really did not know what to watch out for. It is reasonably well located in the 14th. and across the street from a metro...

If you look at the negative reviews you will learn that the rooms are small, the bathroom smaller, and the staircase steep and narrow with no lift. All true. BUT the location is EXCELLENT - Gare Montparnasse, Montparnasse Bienvenue Metro station, and the Edgar Quinet Metro station are all immediately at hand. Virtually next door is a Monoprix; very handy...

Stayed in this hotel one night. One thing was nice, a little 'balcony' adjacent to my room at the 2nd floor. However, the room was not very clean. Shower was broken, Safety box didn't work. Door to 'balcony' couldn't be locked. Things you would expect for this price. Locationwise it is great, smack in the middle of Montparnasse. I would...

Gare Montparnasse and the Montparnasse Bienvenue Metro station are both just a short walk from the hotel and the Edgar Quinet Metro station is only 1/2 a block away. Lots of good restaurants nearby as well. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and quiet, the plumbing and wi-fi worked and the bed was comfortable which is...

Very smelly carpet with blood stains. hotel without elevator and stairs extremely unsafe. Hair in sheets and in the sink. Despite being in a cold season in Paris, the room is very hot and has no air conditioning. In the summer it should be an even bigger problem. And worst of all: The service is lousy. A clerk and the...

I stayed there for 5 nights, ok i knew that there is no elevator & i had no problem, but unfortunately my room was really smelly & everytime i was coming back i saw they cleaned the room & opened the window which resulted in freezing nights & lots of flies in the room & finally a beautiful cockroack (which...

This was a wonderful hotel at a great price. We stayed for 4 days and it was wonderful. Location couldn't be better. Rooms were small, no elevator but it was beyond charming. I highly recommend. We did a whirlwind trip with out 9 year old girls. If I had a stroller might have been tough at this hotel. For the...

We stayed over new year in Paris for 3 nights in this hotel in a super location within 100 metres each of the Metro Station and the Tours Montparnasse. Awesome location, tons of restaurants and cafés, many specialist Breton Restaurants serving delicious Bollées de Cidre and Crepes, as it was traditionally a quartier where the Brittany community settled. It is...

Staying in Montparnasse

Neighbourhood Profile
Montparnasse
The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.
