Before our trip I was a little anxious about the location of this hotel - would it be too close to some areas (Pigalle) and not close enough to others? (Opera, Concorde etc) I need not have worried. The location is quiet and felt safe and friendly. It's close to the St Georges metro stop which was good for getting...

Stayed a weekend at this charming newly renovated hotel in St Georges, Northern Paris. We had requested a quiet room via Venere.com, which we got. Upon arrival we we were seated and offered refreshments and explained one-on-one by a very friendly receptionist how the hotel worked. The staff were super friendly in general, very helpful. We speak French and know...

We arrived by bus from the airport and were directed by an info guy at the bus stop how we should walk to the hotel. It was a 15 minute walk but it was well worth the effort. The Astohotel Hotel Joyce is located within walking distance to Montmatre and also the Galeries Lafayette. And if you are ambitious like...

I have traveled to Paris multiple times (and stayed at several different boutique hotels) and after two nights at Joyce I do not understand how this place can be ranked top 5 of all hotels in the city. The service was wonderful but the rooms where tiny and the beds even smaller. The “double bed” that was suppose to fit...

We have just returned from celebrating our 10th Wedding anniversary in Paris and this hotel was perfect for us! From the moment we arrived the service was excellent and so friendly. We were given room 504, which I think was an upgrade due to our anniversary and it was absolutely wonderful. It had a balcony which was lovely to sit...

Positives: Nice new decor hotel. Cleanliness impeccable. Extremely friendly staff - we arrived early in the morning and was told that the room will be ready at 2pm, we were then offered a complementary breakfast before we went on our journey to discover Paris. They were always happy to help us with our queries. Convenient location a 3 minute walk...

Rooms spacious and comfortable by Paris standards. ((Upgraded room). Staff at front desk were very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast included with good choice. Modern clean bathroom but shower pressure low on higher floor. Free soft drinks and snacks available all day. Good location for getting around.

Hotel Joyce was a great experience for my husband and I. It was our first time in Paris, and the front staff could not have been more accomodating or helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. 5 minute walk to the metro station and very close to Sacre-Coeur. Breakfast was not included, but reasonably priced with a great variety/spread. Would...

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Standing at an unconventional spot of the upper 9th district, the Joyce Hotel is ideally located at the crossroads of the theater district, Place St-Georges, and the "hot-spots" of the fashionable South-Pigalle neighborhood. Maliciously decorated by Philippe Maidenberg, with nods to inevitable Parisian monuments, our hotel will seduce you with its comfort and bold design. Luxury car furniture recycled as improvised seats, inverted Eiffel Tower, delicate tromple-l'oeil paintings around beds, breakfast with bio breads and cereals under a very Eiffel-like glass roof: Everything is ready to usher you into a fun and surprising world. Our 44 rooms are full of thoughtful and delicate touches that add to the cosiness of the place. All rooms feature a quiet atmosphere, strengthened in some cases with a terrace or an enchanting view over the rooftops. Our team, available 24/24, will welcome you into a chic and relaxing atmosphere, while advising you on the top attractions of a perfect stay Find design rooms filled with art works and indulge in a burst of merriment and fresh air in the capital ... ... more   less
