Since Maggie ran the hotel back in the 80s, this hotel has been where all my family & friends have stayed whenever visiting Paris. It is a glorious fin-de-siecle residence run by Maggie's daughter that has wonderful eclectic rooms & atmosphere. Wonderful recommendation!
Found this place thanks to Frommers and cannot wait to bring my husband back. Two friends and I traveled to Paris for the first time over a long weekend. Sophie was so helpful and genuine. Had a two bedroom apartment and a studio. Would rent...More
L'ermitage is a traditional French hotel minutes from Sacré-Cœur. It is a short distance from the more touristy areas of Montematre and consequently not as hectic. The hotel is run by the amazing Madame Sophie who will bring you your breakfast of croissants, baguettes and...More
What a wonderful experience. The hosts are so friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely time. The room was cozy with great beds, and our petit dejeuner was lovely on the patio. You are certainly treated like family here. The price is very reasonable for...More

Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy
features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
