This is a WONDERFUL hotel in the heart of Paris! Wonderful location, near the Louvre and Rue Rivoli, as well as shopping. The excellent staff is gracious and professional. The rooms were quiet and beautifully decorated. The restaurant is cozy yet very classy. This place was worth every penny (euro)!

Stayed for 3 nights with my wife. Booked a double delux room at what was a good price for this grade of hotel. On check-in the staff were extremely polite and efficient. The lift is small but works well. The room was well appointed and large for a Paris Hotel. Had no problems at any time during our stay. Have...

The hotel is wonderful. The smallest 5 star in Paris with a friendly and excellent service. The bedroom was quiet, airy, light, spacious and just right for the 3 night stay I had. A special mention must go to the house keeping who ironed my shirts within minutes and sewed a button on my jacket within seconds - very efficient...

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying in this hôtel on 2 occasions within 5 weeks during a récent 5 week driving holiday in France. On the second occasion we were unexpectedly upgraded to a junior suite. Both rooms were tastefully and luxuriously appointed, quiet and spacious. The staff were excellent, and the hôtel location right on the...

The hotel is in a perfect location between the Opera, Louvre, Rue St Honore and Place Madeline all nearby. The rooms are lovely old world elegant. Immaculate as well. It really was very comfortable. We didn't use the restaurant or really need much from the front desk. The up charge for an extra bed (rollaway) was very high at 150...

Good hotel with very friendly helpful staff. Comfortable and very quite room (unusual in Paris) with well sound insulated windows and silent climate control. The shower was very poor (bath mixer tap with pathetic pressure - not what you would expect in a hotel of this standing). Breakfast was over priced at €25 for a basic breakfast - lots of...

We found Hotel de Vendome on the Small Luxury Hotels website (SLH.com) and have travelled extensively via their portfolio of small luxury properties. This hotel checked every box, authentic, incredible staff, fantastic location in Paris, and a great price compared to others in this exclusive area. The rooms are up to date, and offer a perfect relaxing refuge following a...

We stayed for 7 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were upgraded to a small suite (room 405) which was spacious, well maintained and contained all required amenities including a combination soaking tub/shower and second half bathroom. We got the upgrade and free continental breakfast ( which was very good) by joining the SLH club and it is certainly...

while not my first trip to paris, this was the first trip with my husband and it was a big anniversary that required a special hotel. My experience working at a world class landmark hotel creates some pretty high expectations, and I could not have chosen anything better. The hotel deserves each of its 5 stars plus my own (not...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Built in 1723 by Pierre Perrin, the Sun King's secretary, this elegant building was in turn a private residence and a seat of government, then in 1842 the embassy of the young Republic of Texas whose independence France was the first to recognise. The square is named from the fact that n°1 was the site of the former Vendome family residence. Three centuries of art, culture and elegance make it a unique address in Paris. Today the place Vendome is the temple of Parisian jewellery, and gives onto Paris's most brilliant quartier, with its haute couture, antique dealers, art galleries, the Opera and the Louvre museum. The Hotel de Vendome is thus a unique jewel, on a par with all the precious stones in the vicinity. ... more   less
