The reception staff was wonderful. They met our needs for dinning advice and ways to get around the city. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Notre Dame and the river. It's a central location for sightseeing around historic Paris. The rooms are small, clean, and met our every need. The café selection near the hotel is great. We...

Great location and very reasonably priced rooms clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Had a great week in Paris here and will definitely stay here again next time I return. Close to blvd St Germain and the river with a metro station just at the corner and a laundrette around the corner. Everything one needs!

We stayed here in early July 2014 and had a very good experience. The hotel is well located on the left bank. It is close to the pantheon and in the neighborhood of the Sorbonne. There is a metro station just down the street. Our room was clean and met our needs. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful....

We came late at night after having to abandon the hotel we booked, due to a lack of basics such as air conditioning. Once inside, we were greeted by a very kind manager on duty who was able to communicate with us in either English and Spanish. We stayed in that hotel for three nights. It was very clean, quiet,...

Easy access to/from the Maubert - Mutualité metro station. Right off Saint-Germain yet the area is quiet in the nighttime. The room is simple but huge by Paris standards. The beds are comfortable and windows open into an enclosed area (our room, anyway). The elevator is not too small, either. The front desk staff were always nice and helpful. The...

This hotel was referred to me by Hotel Diana as their rooms were all booked on the dates of my stay in Paris. This hotel is in a perfect location, close to everything. As I was travelling alone my priority was safety, comfortable and easy access to everything. This hotel exactly met the criteria. Very helpful staff.

We stayed at Hotel des Carmes in January 2014. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends. It was great. The staff were very helpful, especially Marie and Luc who were very nice and gave us all the help and advice that we needed - they were very accommodating. Our room was adequate in terms of size,...

My wife and I stayed 8 nights beginning October 21. The previous reviews of this hotel prompted us to stay here. The part that was left out of previous reviews was the helpful assistance of two staff, Marie and Luc. They readily answered all questions, gave wonderful suggestions, simplified confusing issues, made day trip reservations, called taxis, and in general...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
