First let me say that my husband and I had to move to this hotel after realizing that we could not stay at the previous hotel due to insufficient availability of rooms (a mutual misunderstanding--not a big deal). I mention this because we did not have time to check out reviews beforehand. We tried to view a room before we...

I am astounded to read the poor reviews of the Hotel de Sully in the Marias district of Paris. I have stayed there three times. Both my brothers have stayed there and so have my parents. It cost us 72 Euros a night. Find anything for less which doesn't include sleeping under a newspaper on the Rue Saint Antoine and...

We have travelled in FRANCE many times before, but our stay at this place really opened our eyes. We Tourists very often have no idea of their existence: B-E-D B-U-G-S !!!! We learned that the musty smell that is very common with "BUDGET" hotels is almost always the first sign that the hotel rooms are infested with BED BUGS. You...

A friend and I stayed at Hotel de Sully for 9 horrible nights in November 2004. If I had been traveling alone, I would have definitely moved to a different hotel. Being an apartment owner, I was shocked to see so many problems. Here are the details: The pipes creeked so loud that they woke us up in the mornings....

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in spring 2004. We read the other reviews before staying there, but after our visit we can't fathom that they are talking about the same hotel. We were greeted warmly and treated well by the friendly hosts, but outside of that and the location, it was not acceptable. There were quite a...

We stayed there for 12 nights during the end of April 2004. We love the location! Its right in the Marais neighbourhood, arguably the most lively area to stay in the whole Paris. Its 5 minutes walk to the lovely Place de Voges with its many shops and eateries, simply full of charms. St Paul metro is very nearby, thus...

This is a lovely small hotel, with an excellent location and the price is great for the value. Would not stay anywhere else. I have been there 3 times and I love it.

I stayed at Hotel Sully several times in 98-99 while I was studying abroad in France. The Marais is a fun neighborhood and the hotel is in a great location - right next to Place des Vosges and the metro. Great staff, clean and reasonably priced.

My Husband and I stayed at the Hotel Sully in the Marais district on Rue Antoine. The Owner and his wife were so wonderful. Fresh espresso and newly baked french bagettes with double creme butter and pure fruit jams to greet us in the morning for only twenty frances a person. Every time we returned we were greeted with a...

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
