Stayed here one night inbetween conference and w. eekend in Paris. The room had all you'd need - and it was a rather small single room, but good bed - there's enough room for your suitcase and clothes and even have a desk for working. The room was up-to-date and clean and in very good condition. The staff were friendly...

This is my 4th stay at Hôtel Basss, and yes: it's a reference to the legendary Saul Bass* - I had a framed Vertigo-poster on my wall! I caught myself smiling as I opened the door, thinking 'I'm home' ...and that's a great feeling. Excellent website for information and booking; very friendly staff; clean, comfortable rooms; eco-friendly; free coffee in...

Up to date retro inspired decor, yet still cosy, this boutique hotel is excellent value. The staff were always warm & welcoming and helpful. Neat, tidy and clean rooms with new furniture. I see the other reviews mention small bathrooms, and yes this is Paris! Shower like a European, holding the hose close to your body. The bathroom was exceptionally...

Small rooms, but a perfect location for a visit in Parijs. Breakfast is very good but can be quite busy in the morning. Loving the happy hour with all kinds of pastries and coffee. Staff was super friendly and quite helpful.

3 night stay in family room 506. Good size, great shower. Over looks main streets so very buzzy atmosphere with a good view. Can be noisy until early hours from bars below, but that didn't affect us too much as our kids are older. Breakfast self service with a good choice. 5 minute walk from metro. Don't get a taxi...

Good location, near the Sacre Cour cathedral. Easy jump points to the metro. Do not try and bring a car anywhere near. We ended up parking a mile away and paying through the nose. The rooms are what I would call "particleboard chic." They looked pretty cheap. Very small, but probably typical for Paris. Not very many outlets. Beds were...

The rooms, although small, are well maintained and clean. All...

Staying in Montmartre

Neighbourhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colours, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
