The Paris Opera is located centrally and in a good location for tourism and for business close to the centre of Paris. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left I felt like a welcome guest, which is more than can be said for when I stayed that Hilton Paris Opera. The contrast is stark.
When I arrived I was greeted in a friendly and professional way, they had my booking and my Bonvoy status. I even got a room upgrade to a room with a king size bed. The information shared on checking in was useful and no more than I needed for my one night stay.
The room that I stayed in was far more spacious than the equivalent for the price that I stayed in at the Hilton Opera. Usefully it had one British three pin socket along enough French sockets for the devices we all carry.
The room faced onto an inner courtyard so no view but quiet.
When I got into the room relatively late in the evening I found that there was no room service menu, but after phoning down this was addressed relatively quickly and politely. There was a reasonable choice of food including some healthy options.
In terms of hanging space there was a good amount of space (many hotels seem to ignore this in favour of design).
The television had a good range of English and English language channels which was a pleasant surprise from my experience of staying in a number of Paris hotels.
The shower was over the bath but without the clinging shower curtain so an overall pleasant experience.
I did book a wake up call and this was done by a real person as opposed to an electronic voice, another good human touch.
Breakfast is on the ground floor. It is self service but is in a pleasant dining room and with a decent range of options. One addition to bear in mind is that of bircher muesli or porridge (the Opera Hilton does serve porridge but it isn't very nice). The coffee from the machine was surprisingly good. There are friendly staff in the dining room who clear away.
When I checked out of the hotel this was done by a trainee who was friendly, helpful and spoke good English. When I said where I was planning to walk to to go to work she got the concierge to give me clear directions out of the hotel.
The Marriott Opera Ambassador Hotel is in a lovely, historical building and distinguishes itself (certainly from the Hilton Paris Opera) by its human touch and the friendly professional staff. Certainly somewhere that I intend to return to.

Great location and super friendly and helpful staff!
From the front desk staff to the bartenders everyone was helpful with any question or request.
The rooms were exactly what I expected plus more. I have stayed in several areas of Paris and for the price I paid for this room and the location it will be tough to beat!
Past rooms have had ok locations but smaller and cheaper.
this was a perfect location, great size rooms with plenty of amenities.
Breakfast was added to our room and it was well worth it, nice selection of all sorts of breakfast items to begin the day. Even mini baguettes!
Hopefully we will be able to visit again in the near future!

From the moment we arrived I knew it would be a great stay. The front desk employees helped us check in, store luggage, and gave us detailed Metro instructions for getting to the Musee du Louvre quickly to make our ticket time. The rooms are beautifully decorated in soothing blue and white tones. Adequate closet and storage space with a safe and mini refrigerator. Great sized bathroom with good counter space and a nice shower. Loved the Acca Kappa toiletries. Soft, comfortable bed linens and a bed that kept me well rested for all of our Paris exploring. The housekeeping employees were excellent; making sure our rooms were cleaned and refreshed each day and leaving fresh water bottles. The location is near multiple Metro stations in a walkable neighborhood with many nearby shops, restaurants, and a grocery store. It was so easy to get around the city from here. There are pharmacies nearby with convenient covid testing for return flights to the US. Every employee we interacted with was kind, helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. I won’t hesitate to stay here again the next time I am in Paris.

We really enjoyed our stay here! We have Marriott Ambassador Elite status and were pleasantly surprised at the level of service were given in comparison to other Marriott locations in Paris. Everyone at the hotel was helpful and welcoming. The concierge’s helped us book reservations for an Eiffel Tower tour and found us tickets to the Catacombs on a sold out night. They also helped me print my COVID test results and sent a driver to the airport to deliver Christmas gifts that were left behind accidentally. Our room was always magically cleaned at the perfect time and the bellman were very kind and helpful. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Excellent. The immediate area is quiet but only a block away from multiple dining and shopping options. It’s a great location to the Opera district and we ate twice at a Thai Cafe right next to the hotel entrance. Excellent.
The hotel lounge on the 8th floor was by far a unique experience that will have us coming back to this hotel. My husband has stayed in many hotels in Paris and this hotel is the only one that offered heavy hors d'oeuvres in the evening and unlimited wine a liquor until close. Breakfast was delicious and every evening we would eat dinner around town and retire to the hotel and head to the lounge. My favorite spot was any nook window seat with a glass of complimentary wine to chat and watch the Eiffel Tower light up. We made friends with the staff in the lounge and particularly enjoyed their company. A HUGE thank you to Harvey, Vivien, Khalissia, Daniel, Francois and Jessica!
We sincerely appreciated their service and believe what they are creating with the lounge is second to none. I have already referred friends that are traveling to Paris in a few months and I can’t wait to return and see you all again!
Merci beaucoup!!!!

I like this hotel and have stayed several, but they continue have a serious problem with the showers. The water runs from freezing cold to scalding hot and this affects multiple rooms so it is clearly a central problem. I have brought this to their attention on several occasions but it has still not been fixed. Otherwise the hotel is generally nice in a great location, but a nice shower is really a basic requirement for a hotel and being scalded daily is not what you want at a 4 star hotel in Paris.

During a recent 5-night stay in Paris, we split our time with first two nights at the Renaissance Republic and the last three nights at the Marriott Opera—both are Marriott properties. We split the time entirely based on location with the opera area being a bit more convenient for what we wanted to do in Paris. The Galleries Layefette (the “mega” shopping area) is less than a five minute walk from the hotel. The location was very easy to get a taxi at any time of the day—never waited more than 3-4 minutes. This trip, we found Uber to be very inconsistent and problematic—constantly changing assigned drivers and adding to pickup time. There is also a metro stop less than a block away. (note: we usually use metro but avoided this trip as a precaution due to Covid.) The hotel itself definitely needs an renovation of the lobby—very dark and dated—it could be beautiful but simply needs some work. But, the rooms have been updated and are bright and cheerful and most comfortable. We were upgraded and had a street view on the third floor. Surprisingly, the room was quiet in the evening and you did not get the street noise. We had access to the executive lunge on the 8th floor and found it to be exceptional for city vistas especially at night. The lounge breakfast was fine and convenient. The drink session in the evening was excellent and included a buffet would could be a full dinner. The lounge staff was outstanding. Overall, the hotel staff were very good. I certainly recommend especially if this is the area you want to be in this area.

Where do I begin. As many other guests have said, the troubles at this hotel are numerous and egregious. First, we checked in on one of the hottest days ever in Paris and were informed that there would be no air conditioning in our room and that because they were full, there was no other room in which to put us. Bear in my that I am a Platinum Member, only a few nights away from being a Titanium Member, and have had elite status with Bonvoy for years. I asked if they could find us another hotel and the answer was no. I called Bonvoy Member Services but they could not find us a room in any Bonvoy property near Paris. So we had no choice but to stay as it was already past midnight. We were offered free breakfast during our stay but given that I have lounge access, we receive a free breakfast anyway. So that's not much compensation for being given a room with no AC on one of the hottest nights ever. To make matters worse, there was no way to open the window more than a crack. We realized the next day that the issue with the air conditioning was that it wasn't broken but rather it was simply not capable of handling the extreme heat. Thus, this is not the hotel to stay at in the summer when there is obviously a very high chance of warm days and a risk of a heatwave. It simply does not have infrastructure required to provide sufficient air conditioning, something that should be provided given the price of the hotel. I have stayed at plenty of places without air conditioning but they were priced accordingly.
Two days later, the staff at reception were able to move us to a room downstairs with better air conditioning and we were all ready to have a good sleep when we walked into the hotel at about 11:30pm Friday night and were greeted by extremely loud music coming from a party in one of the function rooms on the ground floor. Upon asking when it would end, we were told that it was a guest's party and that reception weren't responsible for the volume of the music and that it was a Friday night so the party could go on for hours. Fortunately, the music stopped shortly after midnight so all was good but the response of the staff was really not appropriate.
There were a few other issues that I won't get into such as card keys not working after multiple attempts to reset them but I think I already made my point: this is not a hotel at which to stay.
I tried to send this review to Bonvoy first but couldn't easily find an appropriate email address on the app.

Unfortunately we chose this hotel thinking we would have the Marriott standard and the rooms seemed to be slightly bigger than other Paris hotels, however everything was horrible.
Every room was different and while we booked a king bed, we received 2 twin beds put together which was difficult when we have a 3 year old sleeping with us. We asked to move when we got there but staff was holding rooms for people who hadn't arrived yet and wouldn't switch us out with someone else. My family had 3 rooms booked at this hotel as we were there for a wedding, each were different yet none of them had adequate air conditioning. I understand summer is hot, however rooms were at 78 degrees F and would NEVER go lower. We were sweating in our rooms day and night and the 1 window only faced a courtyard with no airflow. After complaining we were told there is a problem with AC and an engineer would be coming the next day. That was a lie - this was an ongoing issue where the hotel cannot keep up with the temperature, and engineer never came and the rooms never cooled down. Hotel staff told us they would send up a fan, they never did. we called again the next day asking for a fan, they still never sent it up. it took 2 days for a fan to finally sent (which did nothing anyway). Finally my mom in a separate room demanded all of us be moved and the hotel staff finally advised that some hotel room lines AC werent working while others were. We moved, the room was bigger and slightly cooler but still the thermostat would not lower sufficiently. When we requested extra towels there was also an extended wait time. We called again for towels and were told the person at the desk was theonly person availabl and he couldn't leave the desk to bring towels.
Overall i think the hotel is understaffed and cannot satisfy the number of bookings. Unfortunately it looks like it could have been a nicer hotel had they fixed the issues i mentioned.

I am an Ambassador Elite member of Bonvoy. I recently spent five nights at the Paris Marriott Opera Amabassador Hotel.
The hotel has various problems. My biggest problem: security.
Notwithstanding that the hotel was renovated in the recent past, there is no security in the elevators (requiring that a key card be used to access floors in the hotel). Anyone can walk in to the hotel, go into the elevator and get anywhere in the hotel, including the room floors and the Executve Lounge. This was compounded by two things in the evenings: (1) I returned after dinner on more than one occassion to find NO security in the lobby; and (2) The front desk was not staffed properly late in the evening; returned from dinner once and no once was there at all and another time there was one person at the far end, out of view, seeming to pay no attention. The lack of staffing at the front desk at night, paired with no security in the lobby, made me extremely uncomfortable, and made me feel unsafe.
Security is very important to me as a traveler. I do not understand why this purportedly high-end Marriott property is ignoring good, industry-standard security practices.
I travel to Paris regularly and decided to try this hotel. I will not be returning. I have already made other plans.
This is unfortunate. The hotel has a nice location. My positivies stop there.

Stayed here this past February 2022, was last here Feb 2020. This hotel never disappoints. Came here again with my daughter and our close friends. Her best friend and her friend's mother who has never been to Paris. We came here to celebrate both our daughter's 16th Birthdays. The hotel is in a great location and the staff can't be beat. I was so glad to see some of the same people I met two years ago still working here and providing the best service. Guillaume and Joaquin at the front desk are the best and always ready to help. Assia, Jean Marc and Eve from Concierge were great booking our tours, taxis and restaurant reservations. Also recommending places to go and see. Myla from housekeeping always greeted us with a smile and asked if we needed anything for our rooms daily since we opted not to have housekeeping service the rooms while there. I believe Ezra was his name in from room service who was also great and very friendly every time we saw him. They made this trip again very special, the staff even gave a gift for our girls for their Birthdays. The staff all made us feel welcome, always had a friendly smile, always greeted us and were always ready to help. I had the pleasure of meeting the General Manager, Mr. Xavier Le Ru. Didn't know it was him at first but he was kind enough to let us in the lounge on the 8th floor so we can see the Eiffel Tower from the back window in the lounge. Later on when I met him, I saw why. His warm greeting he had for us upstairs was again visible when I finally met him. When he said welcome, he meant it. I've never met a manager like him where I saw him constantly walking around the hotel and working until after hours and greeting guests. He made sure to say hello even to our daughters and talked to everyone. He is a great example as a manger and the staff at the hotel all have the same demeanor as him. I can't thank everybody enough! Forgot to mention that they renovated the rooms since I was there last in Feb 2020. Everything looks so nice and new. This hotel is a must stay!!

Hi, no we had no kids with us in Paris we we did have them with us in Firenze. Depending on the age (my preference) if they cannot provide a room adjoining - then just get them close by. This is a nice refurbished older building - but really nice. Not sure if they have the adjoining rooms. Best to you and have a great time - suggest looking at Sandeman walking tours of Paris - a great help
