Situated between the Paris Expo Portes de Versailles exhibition centre and the Gare Montparnasse train station, Residence inn by Marriott Paris Didot Montparnasse enjoys a privileged position at the heart of a quiet, “typically Parisian” residential district. The surrounding buildings are magnificent examples of late 19th and early 20th century architecture, and there are many local shops. Streets that bustle with open-air markets give way to unassuming and peaceful little alleyways. The surroundings are refreshingly green, thanks to the public gardens and acacias that line the main routes. With the quiet of rue Didot to one side and the greenery of the garden to the other, your Apart Hotel offers you both comfort and convenience. The serviced apartments hotel is just ten minutes’ by car – or 4 tram stops – from Porte de Versailles and its Parc des Expositions exhibition centre, a year-round venue for major Parisian trade fairs. Numerous bus routes enable you to travel throughout Paris while soaking up the atmosphere of the capital: the no. 58 bus takes you to Montparnasse station in under 10 minutes. The reception is open 24/7. Whether you are in Paris for a long stay or just passing through, our serviced apartments offer everything you could need for your well-being. Stay on your own or as a couple in a studio, or opt for serviced apartments for three or four, with living room and bedrooms. Whichever you choose, you’ll feel right at home. From fully equipped kitchens to complementary WiFi and air conditioning, everything has been designed for your comfort. A range of a la carte services – including daily housekeeping, dry cleaning and a car park – is also available. Each Studio and Apartment houses a bathroom inclusive of a hairdryer, with separate toilet in Studios and One-Bedroom apartments, a fully-equipped kitchen area complete with stove, microwave/grill, dishwasher and fridge. Each apartment has a TV with satellite channels, safe deposit box and direct-line phone. All our Studios and Apartments are fully air-conditioned. Linen and towels are provided. The apartment is cleaned with linen and towels changed for free once a week. Additional housekeeping service is available upon request and is charged according to your needs.

The hotel is hopefully on its way to becoming a 5 star rated for me.

What I consider 5 stars: the housekeeping! They layout of my room and the amenities in kitchen. The breakfast and coffee machine in lobby. The large franprix grocery store conveniently downstairs for those cooking in rooms is a plus! The rooms are also spacious for Paris (granted rooms tend to be more spacious in Montparnasse but I appreciated it all the same)

I travel a lot and hotels with kitchens like the Residence inn is extremely hard for housekeeping to clean and I we rely on them
To make our stay great. My room couldn’t be that easy to clean.

The 4 star is due to the fact my closet in room did not have shelves for clothes and was missing a hanger bar. When I asked them why this was they said “bc it’s an accessible room” I don’t believe my room was accessible due to the way the bathroom was configured additionally, most wheelchair accessible customers travel with a companion and they would still need to hang their clothes! So I don’t like this excuse at all. They also didn’t have suitcase stands available for guests which is a huge fail
For me and I had to use the kitchen table
To prop my suitcase up.

I would give 3 stars for the fact the temperature control was off. The building has bad insulation and so even when it is 5 degrees outside the room is uncomfortably warm. I did notice a customer on Expedia mentioned the same thing in July but for December 31 - January 2 I didn’t expect the same problem. I had to leave the window open (per the hotel’s advisory) but my boyfriend had a cold and it wasn’t good for him.

All this said I would stay at this hotel again if I want that studio apartment style and I do think they are doing good job for Paris and hopefully improving as they are new.

Late checkout for Bonvoy gold members helped a lot!

I stayed in the hotel with family for about a week, and had a very pleasant stay. This hotel is newly converted to Residence Inn, so things are transition. The suite we had was really nice and spacious (recently renovated). The air conditioning worked, the room was cleaned everyday and they supplied fresh towels everyday. The breakfast was good, but could improve if some healthier choices are included (eg., cooked oats, less sugary spreads such as peanut butter/hummus). The key shortcoming were all related to the hotel being in transition -- there were limit supplies of blankets on first two days, there was no laundry and no gym facilities. I am hoping these will get better with time. The staff members were very polite and helpful.

The hotel is located in a residential area and there are no souvenir shops in sight. Nearest metro station is Plaisance (line 13) to which it takes 10 minutes to walk slowly. It takes about 30 minutes by metro to get to the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre.

Fresh apartment with a small dishwasher, two hotplates, microwave, fridge, Nespresso machine and kettle. The shower has good pressure and does not leak water all over the shower room. Separate toilet, unfortunately without sink. Narrow balcony where you can take out a chair and sit for a while in the evening but nothing to eat dinner if you don't want to sit in a row with your plate on your lap. Working air conditioning that is reasonably quiet. Nothing great about the place but perfectly OK for a family.

Pleasant and helpful staff. Sad reception and lobby but it's still not where you spend your time so it doesn't matter.

Grocers wall to wall with the hotel and a bakery a little diagonally across the street. Buy the breakfast rolls, pain au chocolat and croissant there! There are restaurants all along the street and in the surrounding neighborhoods - French, Indian, Lebanese, Japanese, Italian, hole-in-the-wall fried chicken, Creole, Tibetan, Vietnamese, American, and more.

With the family, we had a fantastic stay at Residence Inn, in Paris. The staff were incredibly friendly and always ready to assist with anything we needed, making us feel right at home. The rooms were spotless, modern, and very comfortable – perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city. With great service and a clean, cozy atmosphere, this hotel made our Paris trip truly memorable. Highly recommend!

This is an old building with old facilities. There are a few pros but mostly cons. We booked two rooms for a family of four. Things were looking so bad that we chose to walk out in an hour and chose to forego one nights room rate. The airbnb we emergency booked in Montparnasse was so much better with a cheaper rate.

The Good:
1. Grocery store and places to eat on the same street. Easy to get stuff and get food.
2. Not too far away from city center. Easy to get on the highway if you want to go to Paris Orly.
3. Cheap room rates

The Bad:
1. Very old building, musty smell as soon as you exit the elevator
2. Rooms are not that big. I know Paris hotels are on the smaller side, but this is also not a lot of space
3. Badly designed bathrooms - The WC is near the main door and the doors actually interfere with the main room door. The Shower is on the other side of the room. No scope of washing hands (you will get the point it if you are asian)
4. Flimsy keycard holder for the lights. I kept brushing against making the key card fall out and all the lights go off.
5. Hotel is on a one way street. Also no place to stop or park in front of the hotel. Makes it difficult for taxis to pick up and drop off.

This hotel is also a Residence Inn by Marriott. We had a suite with a kitchenette and separate bedroom for a family with 2 kids. The suite was spacious - huge rooms by European standards; sofa bed was a pair of twins which were comfortable; a TV in each room; a/c was quiet and effective; hotel and rooms look clean and newly renovated; daily light housekeeping; safe area in walking distance to a couple Metro stations that go into central Paris. Staff were friendly; only issue was that they had trouble adding my Marriott number - seems to be recently affiliated. Breakfast was average but free. Coffee was always available; also a pod machine was in the room. Cool mini forest outside by the breakfast room. Well insulated in terms of sound - we went during the solstice music night and had no trouble sleeping through the street musicians. Would definitely return!

We enjoyed this stay in 2025. This is my thorough review. Overall, simplistic, clean hotel with all the basics you need. It is in a quiet area but not too far from busier areas. It was very clean and very quiet. I did see some other families there. I would prepare to return on a future visit to the city.
Staff: I found the staff to be helpful and kind. Particularly Manuel and Gislane helped my family and were professional and accommodating. We do not speak french and so it helped as additional bonus that they spoke english for our communication.
Rooms: decent and cozy. Has fridge, microwave, cooking utensils, safe, cofee maker. Not cleaned daily however. Important to ask about this up front. Room was larger that i expected it to be (two twins together as a king) and plenty of room for us.
Grounds: very clean. Felt safe here. Elevator in good working order. No problems with noise at all
Foods: coffee/water daily. Breakfast is light options but several satisfying options were available. Coming from usa everything was 20x fresher and tastier here. Yes even hotel food is better than standard usa food.
Travel: we used bolt and uber as well as taxi but i believe you are near the public transport options too. At once i needed a taxi and hotel staff was quick to offer assistance.
Gym: located off site around the corner and has all of the basic equipment. If you prefer the quieter & smaller style of hotel gyms keep this in mind as they are partnered with a local membership gym nearby. Some of the equipment downstairs was confusing and required a membership or email to use it seemed.

Our stay at Residence Inn Didot was exceptional. The breakfast had many choices with fresh delicious croissants that were brought in daily. Many thanks to the exceptional friendly staff, in particular Samuel who was an 11 out of 10 with great service and a friendly smile each time we saw him.

The neighbourhood was an exceptional place to stay as it had many good restaurants in walking distance to the hotel and the metro was only 6 minutes away. As well it got us away from the hustle bustle of all the tourists!! We felt very safe in this and will stay there again if back in Paris.

Horrible experience. Do not book with this hotel. I was traveling with my 4 yr old son.
Two weeks before travel, I received an email stating they were having issues with my payment information. The email stated that they would cancel my reservation in 3 days if there was still an issue. So I updated it on the same day and wrote them back. Then, I never heard back so I assumed all was well.

Well, we stated our trip and traveled to London. The day we were set to leave London and start our stay in Paris, mere hours before our arrival, I received an email that our booking was canceled. I called Marriott Bonvoy who tried to contact them. They hung up on them. Then, I called and had to continue calling 10 times to get reception to pick up or stay on the line with me. They accused me of never fixing the issue and then stated they never got my email. I shared that I had proof and they stated something must be wrong with my email (although it seems like service seems to remain an issue at this hotel with emails. See other reviews below). I was, again, traveling with my 4 yr old son and was beyond frantic and panicked that we had no place to stay the night. By the 10th call, they stated that they were willing to honor the price and then stated that they couldn’t take us anyway because I indicate 2 adults instead of 1 adult and 1 child. What does this even matter? Also important to note is that this was the only hotel that had issues with my payment information. No hotels in London or my newly booked hotel in Paris had an issue.

All in all, the most cruelest experience I have ever had on a trip and with hotel reception as it was clear this was done intentionally.
