Stayed here for 5 nights. Wonderful location for walking around the Latin quarter. Comfortable walking distance to rue moufftard restaurants (a must for good food), pantheon, the seine, etc. There is also a bike rental stop right across the street on rue lacepede which we took advantage of. There are numerous boulangeries or bakeries and cafes as well as a...

Having visited Paris before, this was my first trip staying in a hotel rather than with family - and what a great hotel to have picked! The location is wonderful in the Latin quarter with excellent proximity to the metro and walking distance to the Notre Dame and surrounding area with lots of bakeries, shops, cafes and restaurants to chose...

We spent the weekend at the Hotel Saint Christophe and enjoyed it in all aspects! The location is perfect, just 20min walking distance (10min by taxi) from the Gare de Lyon and next to a beautiful area of bars around 'Place de la Contrescarpe'. All the staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. They all spoke...

Just returned from a weekend trip to Paris with friends where we enjoyed a wonderful stay at Hotel Saint Christophe. The hotel is a short walk (maybe 15 mins) from Gare de Lyon through the Jardin des Plantes and situated well for exploring Paris. Plenty of amenities within walking distance such as nice breakfast places close to the Notre Dame,...

Location : 5 stars ! You are near the train station, the tube, and one of the most beautiful area in Paris. Waking up in the morning, smelling the Boulangerie in front of the hotel, and getting to bed in the evening stoping at the Vin & Whisky shop at the corner... what else ? Service : 5 stars !...

Location perfect for walking and proximity of the metro. Just a comfortable place to stay and be. I felt at home in Paris and the hotel helped. Wonderful stores nearby to buy food and drink. And, a couple of brasseries.

Don't really understand the rave reviews this hotel gets. You get over the rooms being tiny - this is Paris after all - but the bed is tiny too! And uncomfortable. The room was stuffy and warm. Staff was very helpful and nice though and location was good with easy access to the river. Would not stay here again nor...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
