This quaint hotel was very centrally located and it was very easy to walk to many of the sights and museums we wanted to see. It was also close to the cute ally ways and lots of shops. The room had a window that looked...More
The Left Bank Hotel is decorated in an old fashioned Parisian-charm style, which I appreciated being my first time to Paris. The room was on the small side but very comfortable with windows opening to the street. Despite this it was extremely quiet. The location...More

As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this
area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.

Go to the RER station office and ask the attendant on duty, not the one behind the glass, the one freely standing in the midst of the crowd. Pay with Euros! She will give you the tickets! If you check online, you can pay a small amount for a week's unlimited ticket, but you need a passport type photo. Once you get the ticket, you can go to the machines in the same location and get your daily tickets. The attendant can also give you the best directions, trains, etc. One change only, I think, from the RER. The info might change by then; but friendly folks helped us along the way, and I am doing the same for you. I hope you have the energy to do Versailles the very same day you land. Good Luck!
