We booked the hotel on a Secret deal through Hotwire and were pleasantly surprised with just how centrally located the hotel was. It's the perfect base for a city break on the banks of the Seine with the closest Metro station (St Michel) and taxi rank only 200m away. The studio room had everything you need and was a good...

The sofa bed could have been more comfortable and the staff at the front desk was often very busy. No chance for one-on-one . The kitchen had had everything, very new and attractive-even a vase for flowers and placemats. A maid cleans but you can take garbage to an incinerator anytime. The bathroom was attractive and spacious with a tub...

What to Wear and Bring: Don't stress about trying to be a Fashionista like I did. lol. Go Basic. Classy over sassy. Umbrella, yes. However, I only used it once. And also, you can buy it every local souvenir shop. Scarves, yes. It is not as cold as Canada, but it is chilly. You can also buy souvenir scarves everywhere....

We had a great experience at the Citadines Saint Germain. We had one bedroom apartment with a sofa bed in the living room. The kitchenette worked great for our son. We had breakfast in our room every day and we even cooked dinner some nights. This hotel is in a great location right across from the Seine River. It is...

booked on line through a Japanese agency called HIS. The room that I stayed was small studio yet functional with kitchen etc. It was very comfortable and apparently the hotel seems very busy - always saw people in and out. In the reception area there is free coffee service as well as several Mac PC for hotel guests. When I...

We selected this hotel because it was central to all the major sites and on the Siene River, no joke. Checkin was a breeze, room was spacious with a kitchenette, elevators were tiny (beware), but overall good experience since we were hardly there. They have complimentary tea, coffee, cappuccino self serve bar and fruit, great bonus to kick start our...

We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment, which was larger than I expected. The kitchenette saved us so much money, as we ate breakfast & some lunches & evening meals in. Eating out is expensive. If Location and space trump charm and decor, than this Citadines location may work for you as it did for me. I took the apartment sized room on the ground floor with a "view" of the garden. Staying in Odeon / Saint-Michel

Neighbourhood Profile
Odeon / Saint-Michel
As the bustling center of entertainment for the residents of the Rive Gauche, the activity at Odéon never stops. Boulevards are lined with traditional cafes, restaurants, and boutique cinemas. The streets surrounding the fountain at Saint-Michel provide eateries from around the world. Lively bars are just next door and the prototypical terraced French brasserie is on every corner. The setting for this area is second to none; the Haussmann-style boulevards are contrasted by monumental architecture and overshadowed by the iconic Notre Dame, all within a moment’s walk from the Seine. This neighbourhood's world-famous bookshops, cafés, and streets will not fail to impress you.

You can then head off to drink a hot chocolate at the Café de Flore, one of the iconic institutions of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. In the afternoon, why not go to sample one of the famed ice-creams at Berthillon, on the Ile Saint-Louis? But perhaps you would prefer to go shopping along Rue de Buci, visit the Louvre or stroll along the paths of the Luxembourg gardens. For your evening, don't forget to book a theatre seat at the Théâtre de la Ville, the Théâtre de l'Odéon or the Théâtre du Châtelet.
