This was our third time to Paris and the Agora Saint Germain was a wonderful choice in the Latin Quarter. Kayer bakery is just around the corner as is Victor Cafe for great beef bourgione. The location is just off St. Germain within easy walking distance to the Notre Dame cathedral. On the weekend there is a wonderful open air...

A well positioned hotel near to the Maubert Metro stop and only a short distance from the centre of town. Like many hotels in Paris the rooms are on the small side but perfectly adequate. The whole hotel was scrupulously clean and the beds very comfortable. An excellent night's sleep could be had since the hotel is located on a...

My wife and I stayed at the Agora for 2 nights over her birthday. Location and staff we could not fault. We had 2 great meals within 5 minutes walking distance from the front door and there is also a lovely wine shop just around the corner next to the Metro. The rooms were adequately sized and nicely decorated, our...

I spend a lot of time in Paris so I'm used to small rooms, but the one at the Agora was not only small, but hot and too noisy to open the window, which overlooked a dark, dank courtyard. The walls were painfully thin and noise from other rooms echoed in the courtyard, so I could hear a neighbor coughing,...

This hotel perfectly gave us all needs what we expect for our trip. Hotel is perfectly located, we were in hard of old town, around thousands of restaurands and bars are ready to spend our time with pleasure. It is only one, what is not like at home - too soft mattress and one cover for our couple, but we...

We had a lovely six day stay at the Agora Saint Germain! The hotel was located within walking distance of Notre Dame, and situated in a very nice neighborhood with a delicious bakery right around the corner for a morning coffee and croissant. The staff spoke English, and they were very helpful with all of our questions and requests. The...

The hotel is in a great location on a quiet street just a few blocks from the Pantheon. The rooms were very clean and the beds very firm which for Paris is unusual! The bathrooms were exceptionally clean and very modern. There are a few good bakeries close by, Eric Keyser was my favorite - lines for bread each morning...

Nice little hotel in Quartier Latin. I had a (very clean yet small as often the case in Paris) room on the street side giving view to a nice church. felt like Paris! Nice personel. All good! Walking distance to Notre Dame.

Perfect location (good neighborhood, restaurants and Metro nearby), smallish room but extremely clean and good bathroom. My only complaint is that the A/C wasn't working (they instead provided a small portable unit) and due to city noise (and the church bells!) you had to have your windows closed. If we had been in Paris when it was hot this unit...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
