I stayed at this hotel alone, in January 2009 on the recommendation of a friend. When I arrived I was give a classiq room as I had booked. The room was nice but the shower room was awful..... Mouldy, broken shower bracket, peeling paint, holes on the wall and old. I knew my friend had had a better experience so...

On checking in we were rather disturbed to see that the room was not a bright, airy room as shown on the website, but a small, cramped, dark room at the back of the hotel. All of the walls and the ceiling were painted dark mushroom brown. The carpet was dark coloured and stained. The whole room had an air...

Me and a friend stayed at this hotel during a 3-day trip to Paris. When we arrived, our room had not been cleaned and when we told the reception staff, we were moved to a new room immediately and the old one was cleaned. There were tea making facilities in the room, a small fridge, a tv, and a hairdryer...

Arrived and shown to a miniscule room with stained carpet and dirty bathroom. Complained to very unhelpful receptionist, who said we could not change rooms. took a bath but water would not go away. Reported to reception but nothing was done. My companion could not use the bath or shower, as full of my dirty bathwater. Went out for dinner,...

Well the reviews were good, the hotel photos were good, but somehow the hotel didn't quite match up. Our room was very small and although clean, was a bit scruffy. The hotel's website gave the impression that the rooms were bigger and brighter. At least the staff were friendly. The breakfast was the usual French buffet fare but at least...

We originally had booked a room with the Libertel in the Canal St. Martin area, but the hotel was overbooked and we were moved to the Montmartre location. Although we were skeptical (and frustrated for being moved), the room was surprisingly clean and very modern. Beware to claustrophobes however....the comfort room was very, very small. Also, if you receive the...

The room was small (as most of them in Paris) but clean and recently renovated (at least the room I was in). It was a ground floor double room so we could not use the window. Noise on the street was at an acceptable level. The hotel is quite in a red-district zone but we didn't feel there was any...

The hotel is very nice, clean, good sized rooms for paris and fairly modern...we even had a bath which was unexpected!! The hotel staff are pretty friendly too! However the area the hotel is in is not great. ....actually it is not so much the area, but the strange men in the area!! I stayed here with my sister and...

So I booked my room on their website directly, that is where you can get the best rate. Let me tell you that this place is pretty nice considering the fact that their king sized bedrooms are only ~70 Euros a night. When I went their I spent my first night in their cheapest room (I was on a real...

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
