We just returned from our stay at the lovely Victoria Palace, home away from home. Great hotel, comfortable rooms and great staff, make sure to check out the newly remodeled bar. The hotel is on a side small street off Rue de Rennes and very close to rue Cherche Midi where you can find many cafes and restaurants. The closest...

Extremely nice accommodations and friendly staff. Breakfast buffet is second to none. Close to good restaurants and shopping. The hotel is also within walking distance to many of the attractions. The weather was rainy during our three night stay, but we had a wonderful stay despite that. The front desk has a substantial list of chocolate shops within walking distance...

We stayed 5 nights at the Victoria Palace in a junior suite, and it was great. Very comfortable bed & pillows, large room & bathroom. We did not have any issues with hot water or water pressure. Excellent, friendly service. Breakfast was just ok, we usually went to one of the cafes around the corner. There is a metro stop...

We stayed at this hotel in November 2016. The hotel is located in the Montparnasse district, where there are many restaurants and shops. Near the metro. The rooms spacious, clean with a marble bathroom and toiletries. Breakfast is good, with many choices. In theory, the ideal place to stay in Paris, but ... There was a failure of hot water....

Dear Sir, Sadly to say, you are quite right : there was a total failure of the hot water system at around midnight. We called for immediate assistance and a technician came to the hotel in the middle of the night to attempt to fix it, but did not have the necessary parts. When it became obvious that it would...

Great hotel. Quiet location, really good bed(s), breakfast and amenities. Very friendly service. If you want a very quiet room, ask for one on the inner courtyard. I would recommend room 310. Close to the metro and good restaurants. If I get back to Paris, I will stay here again. Thank you to the staff for taking such good care...

Dear Madam or Sir, Thank you for your kind comments. Funny you should mention room 310 : That was James Joyce's room when he lived here in 1923.

During my stay in Paris in Victoria Palace Hotel for 330€ night, in the bathroom was not heating on and I paid for 3 adults, it means for 3 adults bed. We had in the room 3rd bed as the additional small bed where I could not sleep. I spoke about it at the reception and I got an answer,...

I spent 5 days with my wife in Paris and picked the Victoria Palace hotel. It was above my expectations for the cost and location. The Victoria Palace is well maintained, providing luxurious atmosphere to whoever comes through its doors. Rooms are much larger than expected in the heart of town well equipped, comfort beds and beautiful large bathroom. the...

Dear Madam or Sir, Thank you for your kind comments and especially for noting that you always felt you could ask for assistance at any time of day. I'm sorry you didn't discover the other lift : in fact there are two lifts, the small one you mention and another much larger one at the other end of the hallway....

Wonderful smaller hotel in a great location. Staff was extremely helpful and accessible. The room was far larger than most Paris hotels and beautifully appointed, clean and cared for. Price was excellent for a hotel of this class and caliber. I have been to Paris many times and this was among the best hotel experiences I have had. Will certainly...

Dear Madam or Sir, Thank you for your comments. You are correct : we do not provide tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but as we are a small hotel, if you request a coffee or a tea it will be brought to your room within minutes, and there is no extra charge for delivery to the room...

This is a very nice hotel and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast at the hotel is great as well. There is a grociery store right down the street and a little cafe across the street. Dear Madam or Sir, Thank you for your kind comments. As regards the location of the hotel relative to sights, it depends a little on how you go about it. If you wish to walk to the Louvre or to Notre-Dame Cathedral, it takes about 25 - 35 minutes at a leisurely pace through lovely historic streets. Alternatively a city...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
