I stayed in this hotel for one night during a conference. The staff is friendly but the condition of the rooms was not up to standard. Sticky floor, almost none of the lamps worked, exposed electrical wiring (dangerous!), no or slow wifi everywhere in the building, black hair everywhere (bed sheets, towels, bathroom), rust and mold brown stains in the...

Was a bit worried by some negative reviews, but this hotel was great value, brilliant location near the republique metro. Clean room, freshened daily and extremely helpful staff, can't thank them enough especially the young man on reception, will definitely book there when we go back

Great hotel in the center of paris and very very cheap. The area is a little noisey but if you are young and staying out late anyway it shouldn't really be a problem. Metro republique is a 2 minute walk and this has lines all over the main parts of paris. Clean room with a lovely view onto the parisian...

This is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for. We stayed in a triple room which was much smaller than how it is pictured, there was pretty much no room to do anything in the room with three people other than sleep and sit on the beds. The shower was great however unfortunately there was a leak...

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and chosed that one because we wanted to keep this trip cheep. The staff was very friendly and it was easy to talk english with them. The room was okay. The bathroom was always clean, but we had some holes in the sheets, wich wasnt a drama for us. The bed and...

We are used to staying in budget accommodation and using a hotel as simply somewhere to sleep. I wouldn't say that we had unrealistic expectations for a budget triple room in Paris but we were so disappointed. This hotel was terrible. Surly, uncommunative staff and dangerous rickety stairs led us to our room - the lift was even more unsafe....

Given the price and reviews we'd seen on the website we weren't expecting much, however we were pleasantly surprised. Not only the staff very friendly and helpful (we made an effort to speak some french) with finding places, but the room was clean nicely decorated and quite spacey! There is a small lift however the stairs are wooden and spiralled...

I was very pleased with my stay at Hotel Excelsior Republique. It was just what we needed and nothing more. It was really close to everything so it made it easy to walk everywhere and it was close to Du Norde which made my life easier trying to make it back to the train home. It was a great budget...

I stayed here with my wife for 3 nights, was our first visit to Paris. We were on a tight budget and wanted a hotel which is centrally located. This place ticked both boxes. Keep expectations very clear on this place. It is cheap for a reason. Rooms are average, bathroom is tiny(I mean tiny), lift is even smaller, but...

We were meant to stay for one night last night. We booked two double rooms. We got one double and one twin. The double was on 2nd floor and smelt of mould. The twin was on the 4th floor. The bed covers were grim. Stained and with what appeared to be pubes stuck to it. Lift can only fit 1...

“We booked the room on the Internet and would probably have got a better room if we would have called the hotel. It would then have been possible to ask if the room was renovated. When using the stairs we could see that some of the other rooms seemed newly refurbished, but ours seemed to be next in line...”

“Rooms too small, but OK for stay during the night. Pillow sheets were changed after first night. For double bed only 1 bed sheet was present. I rather sleep under my own as my girlfriend is taking the whole for her all the time :)”
