I have stayed at the Hotel Select a dozen times and have always loved it. The rooms are small but neat and clean and modernized. The staff is very helpful.

We had a fantastic time at this hotel. The room was beautiful, overlooking Place de la Sorbonne and with two big windows which opened out onto the square itself. The room itself was very clean and had everything we were loking for with a seperate toilet and bathroom. We adapted well to the bath only option as the shower was...

We stayed here on a quick city break on Eurostar. Unlike may Paris (and London) hotels, this was modern, stylish and clean. Our room was small but had a modern, if not luxurious bathroom and seemed perfectly fine and clean. All the normal amenities you'd expect - TV, mini-bar, toiletries but basically a nice base to stay for the few...

A modern, clean, comfortable hotel in a good location. Friendly staff, good breakfast choices. Air conditioning was a welcome bonus as August in Paris was very hot.

The hotel is in a good location, but the people at the Front Desk are unfriendly, they are grumpy and do not like children. My son broke a lamp when he moved backwards and we were forced to pay for it, after the lady at the reception shouted to my son. Also they applied a different room rate to our...

I can't recommend this hotel highly enough for any couple travelling to Paris. As most Parisian hotels are a let down in terms of the room size and quality, even in 4 and 5 star hotels, The Select Hotel is a real breath of fresh air. My wife was convinced I had booked a higher grade and more expensive hotel...

The hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance of the Seine. It is well designed with a modern boutique look. Our room was small but pleasing to the eye as was the bathroom, although no bath, just a shower, which was fine with us. Everything was clean and new looking. It was nice and quiet and the air...

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
