The Hotel doesn't have a bar but if you exit and turn left within a short distance is Place de la Sorbonne where are there are several good bars and restaurants. It's a lovely sheltered square in front of the University.

You can catch the RER B train from Gare du Nord, and take it to Saint-Michel - Notre Dame. From there it's about a 5-10 minute walk to the hotel.
