This is a small hotel in a great location on Rue du Bac in walking distance of many of Paris’s greatest attractions such as the Musee d’Orsay, Louvre etc etc It’s an old property that’s been exceptionally well modernised and, while rooms are not particularly spacious as you’d expect in a building if it’s vintage in such a central location, excellent design makes them a pleasure to stay in. We stayed as a family of four - two parents and two teenage boys and we all loved the hotel. Continental breakfast is excellent with beautiful produce in plentiful supply and the whole hotel is spotlessly clean. What sets this hotel aside however is service - the exceptionally professional and helpful staff are a real class act. In summary Hotel Saint Germain is excellent and I’d recommend it!

This boutique hotel located right near Rue du Bac Station is beautiful decorated and compensates for petite rooms with a wonderfully attentive staff. When I arrived exhausted from travel, my bags were whisked out of my car, I was taken through a very brief check-in process and then taken to my room. In my room a bottle of wine with a lovely note was awaiting me along with a generous bottle of water, and the air conditioning had been started prior to my arrival to ensure the room was comfortable. The staff has been truly attentive throughout my stay, and I cannot say enough about these hard working professionals. The bathtub was a bit snug for my American waistline, but that’s more on me than on the bath. The staff has continued to make helpful recommendations, and breakfast is plentiful and delicious. I really recommend paying the upgrade fee to have breakfast included throughout your stay. With COVID, they are lovingly serving meals instead of a buffet. I am a disabled woman with invisible disability, and I appreciate that the hotel has a petite lift and sturdy railings on the stairwell to offer options depending on how worn out I am. I love the neighborhood which is full of shops and crafts people at the top of their crafts and is centrally located to everything. The staff and property are both 5 stars, but please be realistic about your expectations for room size if coming from America. This is like staying in the heart of Manhattan where space is a premium and most buildings are historic. You’ll have all you need, but the rooms are cozy and compact.

Dear Madam, We would like to thank you for your review on our Hotel . We are delighted to read that you found our Parisian boutique hotel very convenient to get around; Indeed we are in a prime location, close to most iconic places and great restaurants. We thank you for complementing our team, and you can be sure we will share your compliments with Pedro and Michael who have been pleased to assist you with interesting addresses and good tips during your stay in Paris. We are proud of you mentioning our 17th-century hotel building. It was renovated this year, so all the rooms are brand new. For Europe standards, our classic rooms offer a decent size room, with sufficient closet space and standard size bathroom. Maybe for your next trip, you would be interested to confirm one of our superior rooms, larger than the classic rooms. We look forward to welcoming you again in our charming hotel soon. Kind regards Virginie Daveu Hotel Manager

My partner and I stayed at this beautiful hotel for 2 nights over the NYE period. Straight away we were welcomed by Michael (who was fantastic throughout our stay. He helped recommend restaurants and helped us with bookings. He also was happy to take some photos of us as we were leaving to go home!). He is a credit to the hotel and we hope to see him next time we come.

The hotel provides a French-style buffet breakfast with fresh juice, hot drinks, croissants, bread, cheese, fruits and yoghurts. We never had an issue getting seated straight away for breakfast before our busy days ahead.

The hotel is within walking distance to metro stations (although they were on strike when we were here), bus stops or the attractions themselves i.e. Louvre and Eiffel tower.

The only downfall we had on our trip was due to noise, not the hotel's fault though. The first night was NYE and there was a loud party (what sounded like above us, but we think was the building next door) which went on to the early hours. Normally we would have tried to join the party but after a long day of travelling and being awake nearly 24 hours all we wanted was to sleep! Early on both mornings we also heard what sounded like either chairs being moved or glasses being thrown into something? This was around 6am every morning which was quite annoying but again, don't think it was the hotel making the noise.

Overall, a very pleasant stay on what was a very magical trip. Paris will forever hold a special place in my heart and staying at such a lovely hotel with fantastic staff was the cherry on top.

Thank you again and à Bientôt!

Nicol and Joe

Dear guest, We thank you for selecting our property and for your comments. We are glad, you have been delighted by our property and the fantastic service of Michael. We really appreciated the picture taken by Mickael in TripAdvisor. The strike doesn’t affect tourism activities for our guests. The Saint Germain area is a centric neighborhood in the center of Paris, tourist attractions, restaurants, shopping areas, museums are at a reasonable walking distance. New Year's Eve is noisy night, our sincerest excuses for the noise done next building; on normal period our property is truly appreciated by our guests for being calm. We looking forward to welcoming you back any time soon in our charming hotel. Best regards, François Operations Manager

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Saint Germain! The location is very convenient -- it is a ten minute walk to many tourist attractions. The area is lovely and there are several terrific cafes and restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. What truly makes this hotel special, though, is the exceptionally friendly and considerate staff. The concierge in particular is very helpful. Michael, who was at the front desk for most of our stay, especially stood out. We were in Paris during the transportation strike and he went out of his way to help us book taxis, and was always accommodating, thoughtful, and kind. We will absolutely stay here again and recommend to friends!

The location of the hotel is perfect, close to all attractions but away from the busy over crowded areas, each member of staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great with lots of choice of fresh, tasty food (See the attached menu) we can’t wait to visit again. P.s the complimentary maroons are a great touch.

We stayed at the Hotel Saint Germain for two nights. It’s a small cozy hotel in the heart of Paris. The staff were superbly friendly and accommodating. They assisted us with anything we needed. We had room #4 which was on the bottom floor, and had direct access to the patio which was perfect cause we are smokers. The room was clean and tidy and so warm! The bed was something else, you simply sink in it and sleep after a great day walking the streets of Paris. The location was the greatest bit about it, we got everywhere we needed by walking. We only sometimes took the bus to save time cause we were there for a short time. Highly recommended, would certainly stay here again!

Very well located hotel in the 7th arrondissement. Walking distance to metro, bus and about 15 minute walk to Eiffel Tower. Located on a quiet street it has a quiet charm and excellent value for the money. We were a family of four and received two adjacent rooms for what we felt was a fair price during the busy summer season. Rooms were clean and rate included continental breakfast. Breakfast was very good served on beautiful dishes. Staff was friendly. Apart from a slight misunderstanding with a desk in the room that was cleared up pretty quickly our stay was absolutely wonderful. Would highly recommend.

Stayed here for a couple of days. And very satisfied with the experience! Wonderful location and well kitted out little rooms. Everything pretty much one needs is fitted into a compact space like many Parisian hotels. Good beds, good sheets, I was pleased that there was air conditioning. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was ample, served stylishly in a blue and white service on tiny little tables in a little breakfast nook. Recommended!

From the moment I booked my reservation, the staff of the hotel did everything possible to make me feel welcome and special. They emailed asking my preferences for bedding and anything I might need on arrival, and when I unexpectedly arrived in Paris earlier than anticipated and needed to get out of the pouring rain, they made my room available early so that I could unpack and get settled. They even loaned me an iPhone charger, which saved me from being stranded without communication! C’est bonne! The hotel itself is charming, adorably decorated and in an exceptional location for experiencing everything the neighborhood has to offer. I will make this my Parisian destination from now on. Really outstanding service, so clean and the staff and management know how to make one feel at home in a new city.

I can’t stop raving about this Hotel to people- in particular the staff. They really impressed me with the quality and personalized service they give. For example, I was asked (in a genuine way) where I was going when I turned in my key and I had said that I was going to a concert. Two days later I saw that individual again and she went out of her way to ask me how I enjoyed it. I was also always greeted by name.
Many reviews make mention of how small the rooms are and by American standards they are if you’re comparing them to a room outside of a major city. They’re no different in size than any of the rooms I’ve gotten in NYC or Chicago. I quite loved the rooms and the charm of the Hotel. And I should point out that they have AC! Thank goodness because it was well over 100 the day I left to come home!
And let’s talk about the location… I could not ask for a better location for sightseeing. It was a short walk to everything!! It was also in a nice neighborhood and as a solo female traveler I felt perfectly safe walking at night in this neighborhood (obviously using standard precautions).
My only complaint was that I wasn’t a fan of the breakfast croissants, but there was an incredible bakery down the street so I was content!
If I ever make it back to Paris, I will make it a point to stay here again!
