The People Hostel La Marais
Is a modern large hostel on 7 floors of a purpose built building,in a brilliant location
Easily recognised for newcomers and cab drivers
A friendly and well organised receptionist sorted out my lower bunk and checkin without fuss
The 8 bed dorm costing just under €50 per bed
was clean,efficient with a v comfortable bed
Also private with reading light, power and storage
Showers toilets and”chill out”rooms are down the corridor
BTW a great little minimarket 2 mins 7.30-9!
The kitchen was on the 4th floor, small but efficient
The bar and restaurant on another floor also modern and efficient
All in all,,,,a modern professional and huge hostel
Lacking atmosphere and a washing machine
But covering everything else,,,efficiently!

Very clean and new hostel in the centre of Paris. Staff are friendly but not personable and a little blunt at times- maybe that’s just Paris though. Terrace a couple of floors above reception is so beautiful and a lovely setting to sit in but sadly very empty so not much in terms of a social atmosphere. Didn’t try the food but drinks very expensive. You can store your luggage in the basement but for a fee, which I suppose is handy but it would have been nice for it to be included in the price. Cannot fault the location at all, really well connected to all areas by foot / or metro etc. Lots of nightlife and restaurants around the hostel area which is nice too to not have to walk too far to find something decent for dinner. The rooms themselves are really spacious and they have really modern, smart storage and charging solutions for travellers (prob the best I’ve come across in a hostel). Only downfall was that the rooms don’t have toilets or showers, which was a little annoying having to go down the long hallways to use the bathroom or wash. Overall great stay and would recommend:)

The room we booked with a 4 bed with private bath. We did not realize we booked a non-gender specific room and were shocked to see men in our room. it ended up not being an issue at all for us, but it was not something we thought of prior to booking. Ensure you read carefully with the translations!
Otherwise, the rooms were great. Pretty comfortable beds. Pillows were a little thin but it was okay. A few things to note to make for a better stay (again we may not have read carefully):
1. Bring your own lock for the in room storage bins. It is not a pad lock.
2. Showers have a push to activate shower which you have to keep pressing. It is for saving water and no overusing but it was very annoying. You will not have an "incredible" shower while here but that's okay.
3. You can refresh your towel as often as you want, but you only get one at a time.
4. Cleaning staff comes in every day if there is turnover in your room, if you are in it or not. Keep that in mind in case you plan to sleep in.
5. Public floor restrooms had more space. Walls in the private bathroom rooms are very thin so something to keep in mind.
Overall, this was in a GREAT location. The staff was amazing and very nice to us. The bar upstairs was very convenient. Overall clean and generally easy to navigate. :)

Although the location of the hostel is perfect, the sink at my ensuite bathroom was broken and could not be fixed. Which brought trouble to the bathroom as it flooded with water. I was unable to use to sink to brush my teeth etc. I paíded a higher price to use an ensuite bathroom, but as I was unable to use it, I thought it would be fair to have a discount on my stay. This appeared to be impossible. There was no manager available to whom I could speak to. Staff told me the manager would get in touch with me, but so far I did not hear anything. I am very dissapointed with this hostel, which is brand new and already has these kind of issues. Bad experience.

The rooms were small but clean. There were small cubes where to save your stuff but not even a carry on would fit there. The private bathrooms were ok but there were no towels to even dry my hands on or to step out the shower afterwards, so everything was a bit wet. Sometimes I could not get it into the common bathrooms for some reason and I know I was not the only one (problems with hostel card)
We asked whether they could add us all to the same 4-bed room since we were 3. They said they could and afterwards they did not 'by mistake' so this was a bit disappointing.
The place in general was awesome, it was very nice, clean, friendly staff. They also have lockers where to store your luggage if needed.
Breakfast was a bit expensive but totally worth it.
Location was convenient since there is a metro station just around the corner, so it was pretty easy to move around such a big city.
I would probably go again.

The hostel is new and beautiful, is quiet but very well located. Only one block away from the metro. I could find only 2 bad things 1 is the lack of plugs next to my bed (i know in other rooms they have more but in mine i had only 1) and when you are traveling you only have overnight to charge everything you will have to use the next day so in my opinion thats something to have in mind. Another thing that was bad during my stay there was that my bed didnt have courtains like others did, i went and ask for them 3 times and they kept saying that the next day they would do it, i just checked out and that didnt happen, but also the room didnt have any kind of black out for the window so at 6 am in the morning you would have fully light in your face. I know in other rooms all the beds had courtains but once again that was not my case and it gave me like a no privacy feeling. Other than this 2 things the hostel is amazin. I would recomend staying in a room with bathroom cause ive seen man coming out of the ladies showers a few times so i didnt feel safe showering there

The People Paris Marais is situated in the very cosy Marais area close to the Seine and enjoyable walks alonside the river bank. The hotel concept is modern, clean and no-nonsense with a strong environmental profile as well. The breakfast though, was a little sparse if you expect the full "continental" as is often common on other hotels, but you get what you pay for. We will definately recommend this hotel.

Our family (husband, wife & two teenage sons) stayed here July 18-21, 2022. Generally, we had a good experience. We stayed in a four bunk room with our own bath. The check in process was smooth, room was clean, breakfast was decent, and location was great. Unfortunately, we arrived at the start of the heat wave in Paris where temps reached 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Like most hostels in Europe, this hostel does not have air conditioning, so the nights were very uncomfortable. I implore management to provide fans in every room. Unfortunately, these heat waves are only going to get worse in the future, and it is actually dangerous for some people to have to spend time in this kind of heat. Management really needs to do what they can and provide a fan in every room. They should also allow windows to open more than a few inches to allow better airflow. If not for the heat issue, I would have given this hostel five stars.

I paid a lot for two nights accommodation in a basic hostel with no air conditioning or room fan, and with a breakfast “buffet” that consisted of some bread, old fruit, and cereal with no plant based milk option. It was the only place I stayed in Europe that didn’t cater at all to a dairy-free diet - it’s not difficult or expensive to have soy or oat milk available. (Since they say they don’t have air conditioning for environmental reasons they should be looking at the environmental impacts of the food being served too.) Most places also at least have a fan for hot weather. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

I spend only few hours there but the room was clean , the bed comfortable with a courtain you can have your privacy.
The bathroom was also clean.
The position is good if you need to go in Paris Gare de Lyon because you can walk 10 min for the metro, one stop and you are there.
If I travel again from Paris to Italy I will definitely go there.
