Our first trip to Paris was special from the minute we arrived at this hotel. We spent 6 nights. What a lovely cared for historic building. Very clean and welcoming. The staff was friendly. professional and most accommodating. Gilles greeted us with a very warm welcome and helped us get familiar with the local area. Our room was very nice and included a small sitting area and table to enjoy tea or coffee that was provided. The mini fridge was well stocked for a quick refreshment with wine, water and soft drinks. The accommodations were top shelf, comfy bed and pillows. A true authentic European experience. Breakfast was great and the staff very pleasant and caring. A wonderful array of fresh breads and pastries along with fresh fruit, coffee and juices and made to order omelets. A great way to begin your day. We would highly recommend this Hotel for the reasons we stated above, as well as the location and neighborhood. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go literally minutes' walk from the Seine, Louvre, Note Dame and St Chapelle to just name a few. Transfers to and from the Hotel were made through Gilles and Jean Marie and were excellent the drivers were local and very professional. We will be back

I booked this hotel on the strength of the excellent trip advisor reviews but overall was underwhelmed. I do not want to say it was average because it has a fabulous location just a few steps away from the Seine and Notre Dame but "very good" would not be a true reflection of our overall experience. The rooms are small but as other visitors say - that's Paris. The decor in the room was cheap and garish with plastic headboard poor quality carpet and curtains which barely met. The front desk concierge was very helpful and the breakfast was pleasant, if a little disorganised. All in all it was fine but at 450 Euro per night I don't believe it was excellent value. We have stayed in similarly priced hotels in Paris - Hotel des Grand Hommes/Residence Henry IV and preferred both of them despite the excellent location here.

"A memorable stay in a hotel that met all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, the welcome was up to the task: warm, professional and attentive. The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, with high quality bedding that guarantees relaxing nights.
The setting of the hotel is charming, conducive to relaxation, and the ideal location allows you to fully enjoy the surrounding attractions. Special mention for the restaurant which offers tasty cuisine, with fresh and local products, and impeccable service.
All the staff are very attentive, ready to respond to every request with a smile. It is an address where you really feel considered. We leave delighted and can't wait to come back for another stay!"

This was my 20th wedding anniversary, and the first time my wife and I had ever been to Paris. We stayed for nine days at the Relais Hotel. I initially chose this hotel because the price was reasonable, it was nestled in the Latin Quarter and of its proximity to the Metro, Notre Dame and the Seine river.
During our stay we got to know a few of the hotel staff and even had the opportunity to meed the owner who is an amazing woman. Everyone who works there is friendly and will not hesitate to go above and beyond to help out their guests. They were quick to recommend good restaurants (make a reservation at Chez Fernand Christine ahead of time), set up a private pickup at the airport, and arranged out return taxi for us when we left.
Henri who works the hotel most days and Slim who works the hotel most nights are both incredible at their jobs and are earnestly interested in making sure the guest have a pleasant stay. I always felt like I was a guest in their home instead of a random guest at a hotel.
There is ample food nearby, Plaza St Michael and the metro are about a 5 minute walk away and the Boulangerie right around the corner is amazing.
The hotel and room were alway clean, and by clean I mean immaculate. The rooms are quiet, the beds are comfortable, and the water pressure is always good. The breakfast is ample (they know how to make American style coffee btw) the wifi worked well, and the air conditioning was a godsend after a particularly warm day. The decor and ambiance were charming and complimented the age and style of the hotel.
The rooms are typical size for a European hotel and the room we booked had enough space for the two of us, our luggage and still be plenty comfortable. We came to Paris for the food and the wine after all. Not to hang out in the hotel.
There was a book written about the hotel as well in case you're not aware. It's The Beat Hotel by Barry Miles. We had the opportunity to sit and talk with the owner about the hotel, when she purchased it, it's renovations, and it's history. She showed us her copy of the book and we had a fantastic conversation with her for about an hour. Pretty cool stuff.
I will not hesitate to return to the Relais in the future and highly recommend it. Paris was a truly wonderful experience and the staff at the Relais helped to make it that way.

Cute Hotel in the Latin District. I found this hotel based on limited availability because I was booking late and wanted this location. I think the hotel was overpriced but that may be because I have never stayed in Paris before. Staff was great, friendly, and always helpful. This is an old hotel so the room had an odd setup but I thought that added to the charm of the place. The room was clean and well maintained. My wife thought the place was really beautiful snd cute. Breakfast was great, beautiful setup, great omelettes, and amazing service.
I loved the location of this place, you can walk to most tourist sites and the subway is always close. This is not a big hotel with a big elevator, this is a small beautiful hotel with a tiny elevator and tight stairs but that worked fine for me.
I would highly recommend this place, you are getting a boutique hotel with great people working there.

this is such a gem of a boutique hotel in Paris. as a solo female traveller, I was very apprehensive in booking somewhere, which is exactly why I would recommend this hotel. the staff are very helpful and friendly, the hotel is typically small as per paris hotels but they make a small space beautiful! breakfast is only 10e per person, fully continental and a wide variety of breakfast to choose from, definitely worth getting before setting out for the day. it is very close to the city...the metro stop is 2 minutes up the street and it takes you directly to the arc de Triomphe and champs elysee avenue ,in only 4 quick stops.(this costs 1.90e. it is lovely and quiet at night,I slept great and the street itself is calm and feels safe. I think this hotel is really lovely and an ideal base to explore Paris from!!

This is a historic hotel tucked right next to Saint-Michel and therefore great for tourists, especially book lovers and collectors of bande dessinees, as the biggest shops for these are right nearby. The rooms are small but well-kept and yoiu can discover al about the beat poets who stayed there. The staff are very friendly.

This is our favorite hotel in Paris. It has the most wonderful staff including Jean Marie, Raymond, Slim and all! It was built in the late 1400s but has all the modern conveniences of a boutique European 4 star hotel without losing it’s charm! Who needs a gym when you have the streets of Paris to explore.. The location is perfect for getting to all the sights via walking ( two blocks from the Seine) or Metro. It is on a quiet street but close to the excitement of the Latin Quarter and Saint-Germain-des-Prés cafes and bistros The hotel also has the history of being home to the “Beat Generation” greats. Again, the staff makes you feel welcome, it is extremely clean, has the necessary modern conveniences and we highly recommend if you want a charming and historic hotel in a perfect location.

The hotel was wonderful and we stayed for 5 nights! It was in a great location and we were able to walk easily to multiple neighborhoods. The customer service was great, the front desk is open 24/7 even though it is a small hotel. Rooms were modern and comfortable with AC! The pool/ sauna/ steam room were an oasis, private and quiet. Breakfast was perfect, cappuccino, croissants, fresh squeezed orange juice, and breakfast tartes (like tiny quiche). All of the hotel employees were amazing front desk, housekeeping and breakfast servers. They spoke English, were helpful, and kind. Highly recommend!

I have stayed at this hotel twice and will stay there on my next trip to Paris. The location is excellent for city center tourist attractions: Louvre, Orsay, Orange. Henri and Raymond are very welcoming and very helpful in arranging the necessary reservations for museums, Seine cruises, dinner reservations. The rooms are "French-small", but well furnished, air conditioned and quiet.
I know of no another hotel that I appreciate as much as the Relais Hotel du Vieux Paris.
