Clean rooms and friendly staff. Area is not nearly as bad as some of the reviews made it seem. Though it does give off the vibe of being a little 'homeless-y', not one person bothered us at all and we never once felt unsafe, even...More
Room was very dirty, not enough towels for 2 persons, room was very small, reception area was very dusty and dirty, management to collect additional towels from reception, asked for wake-up call but did not receive one, unwelcome solicitation right outside hotel reception
The road leading up from Gare du Nord to hotel was full of street sellers .The hotel itself was clean and tidy ,the room was satisfactory although the hairdryer was broken in the bathroom. The breakfast was of a decent standard although at times the supplies...More
Ideally located to get around Paris, no bar or communal toilets but other than that, clean and friendly. Rooms a tad on small size and no draws for storage and dimly light. That is me being picky though, would not prevent me from going again.

It's literally minutes away from Sacre Coeur and that is a better area without doubt. You can walk to Montmartre, Moulin Rouge and La Cigale theatre. There are also several metro stations nearby although admittedly the nearest one Barbes felt a bit unsafe on the outside, once inside it was perfectly fine and there was a very nice bilingual man at the information desk the day we were there. We didn't take the metro at night as we stayed within walking distance but if you felt unsure you could always take a taxi back to the hotel. The important thing is to remain vigilant, keep valuables hidden or at least close to your body the same as in any city. Try to get to grip with the metro system in advance and do some research before you go so that you make the most of the time you have there. Paris is a truly beautiful city, enjoy every minute!
