Nice hotel decorated as you will expect to be for a traditional hotel in Paris 100 year back. Cute. Small size hotel, with small reception and lobby. The personnel was very nice and the price quality also. Small room with very small bathroom. Specially if the room is a triple. Yet given the location it was a good deal. You...

Dear Mercedes, First of all, we all wanted to thak you for giving usd 4 points. Unfortunately, in old small hotels in Paris, it is not possible to have big rooms. But Hotel Saint-Jacques has a special charm you do not find in a big chain. We hope to have the pleasure to welcome you again in a very near...

This hotel was in a great location. We stayed here for 6 nights. Walking distance to a number of attractions and nearby the metro to get to the others. The hotel was an older building but was clean. Washroom was a good size. The hotel was quite loud overnight though as our room was facing the street. The breakfast was...

Dear Emerald, We thank you very much for giving us 4 points. Even if the street was quite loud for you, at least you spent a good stay with us. For Paris, our breakfast is like a meal. For 14 euros only, you cannot find more in a small hotel. Certainly we have same menu everyday, but at least you...

Simple hotel in a great location with very kind and helpful staff. the rooms are dated and not too clean, but that is part of the "ambiance". the bathrooms are renovated. i skipped the breakfast as the area has so many options to offer. metro and buses are just minutes away, and the area is great to walk around in...

The staff was great , very helpful giving us directions. The location was really good, we could walk to the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Seine , lots of good restaurants near. The bus stop was close and the metro just a bit further. The room was quite small, had a nice little balcony. The bathroom is a challenge getting into...

I needed a hotel close to the RER station for a business meeting and this fitted the bill. Very easy to find and plenty of places to eat all around. From the RER you pass a whole street of stalls selling local produce and Xmas type gifts! Hotel was very friendly, rooms were boutique style with plenty of room, good...

We loved the hotel. The rooms are small, and the bathroom is small--a bit of a challenge to step into the tub, but not smaller than European standards. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's a really short walk to the subway and a reasonable walk to Luxembourg Gardens and Notre Dame. And it's affordable.

I stayed for 4 nights in Saint-Jaques hotel last week while in a business trip. The hotel's location was perfect for me, in a quiet part of rue des Ecoles, very close to numerous restaurants, shops and coffee places. My room was on the ground floor facing the street (slightly below street leverl) which I didn't like at first but...

We stayed at Hotel Saint-Jacques for a week towards the end of September. This was our first visit to Paris and I decided to on the hotel because of its proximity to Notre Dame, which we wanted to see a few times. I'm so glad I did! The hotel is a comfortable 10 min walk to the cathedral. It is...

Hotel was great in the 5th arr...not many rooms. Elevator very small so go up one at a time if you have luggage. Staff were so amazing wonderful. Always polite and happy and didn't mind if you couldn't speak French all that well. Close to pretty much everything, plenty of restaurants and easy walk to a few train stations.

This is our second stay at the Hotel Saint-Jacques- we eagerly returned as it is comfortable, staff is very helpful, and location is excellent. Nataliya made restaurant suggestions and reservations that made our stay even more special. We hope to have the opportunity to visit here again!

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighbourhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendour and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighbourhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
