The hostel is first almost impossible to find, the owner doesn't care about the hostel obviously, as the whole hostel is messy and dirty, no fresh sheets on any beds, dirty kitchen, hairs in the shower and in the toilet. Stinks of smoke and weed, employee had friends smoking weed in the premises and was smoking from a bong. Owner...

I had a reasonable stay in Paris. The hostel flat is 100m meters from the Montparnasse station, which means it's easy to get there from any turist attraction. There is a supermarket nearby and a bakery across the street. I got picked up at the station even after the time limit, I'm really grateful. About hygiene, sometimes is about luck....

Thanks for you two guys, marcus and lyon(i'm not sure about the spellings), i arrived at Bercelona, safely. The atmosphere of the hostel was very nice, and the shower and lundry were also not bad. (Kitchen also.) I also enjoyed the view of the hostel, and maybe it would be the most attractive thing in this place. The 6 days...

I really enjoyed my stay at Lucky Youth Montparnasse. The check-in was very simple, and the check-out too. There is a nice atmosphere, and everything you need for your stay. I recommend this as the place to be if you're travelling and you look for a cheap but comfortable place, well situated in the city (next to train station Montparnasse),...

This place is Sweet: there is a panoramic, 14th floor view of the city, including the Eiffel Tour. Very cool concept: an apartment as opposed to a dormitory, very homey atmosphere. And its located right above the central Montparnasse train station and Metro Stop, so you have access to the entire city from downstairs, no dragging around. Its also in...

I liked staying in an apartment! It's cool to imagine the person who lives here the rest of the year, when they are not on vacation and renting out their place. It has a convenient kitchen and laundry machine in room. Made me feel at home. Also a great location with easy access to all areas of the city.

Nice flat, best view of all hotels i've been in. Cheap for what it is. Stayed for 1 night. The girl was nice and picked me up in the cafe (meeting point) 5/10 minutes after I arrived and she was very nice and helpful. Don't forgot to send them an email few days before with the arrival time because some...

Lucky Youth Hostel was smth what I didn’t expect. It’s kind of speak-easy place, an apatment with only 10 beds and beautiful view over the city. The ambiance of the place is great – I’ve met there few really nice people and I was really sad when I had to leave it. It’s really close to the Train Station –...

I am currently staying in a cosy apartment in the style of a hostel which is built on top of the central train station, Montparnasse. It's probably the best location and accommodation you can find for this price in Paris. We just have to take the lift down to the station from the apartment and we are right at the...

While I loved the apartment we stayed in with Lucky Youth, there are multiple that you can be assigned. You are required to meet up with a staff member first who will then show you the apartment you are staying in. However this can be a problem if you don't have a phone to coordinate with. Our location was great,...

Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighbourhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
