This is the second time my sister have stayed here, and we will stay here again. We usually travel every year to Paris together, and we have stayed pretty much all over in the past 14 years. We originally chose this hotel due to its proximity to everything we wanted to do, and it did not disappoint. We enjoy walking a lot in order to work off the calories we consume, and this is the perfect location to do so. It's also great if you decide to take the Metro instead of walking back, as a station is steps from the front door.
Like last time, we booked a room with a view of the Seine and Notre Dame, and it did not disappoint. The hotel is clean, cozy, and comfortable. The staff are friendly and kind, patiently allow you to practice your French on them , and very helpful.
We arrived in the early morning from the States, as we normally do, and took the RER into the city. RER B takes you directly to the hotel, with an elevator entrance/exit a few yards from the hotel. We got to the hotel about 9 am. Our room wasn't ready, but we were able to leave our luggage there while we went to grab breakfast at a nearby cafe on Ile St. Louis. We came back about an hour later to grab something from our bags and were told our room was ready. We had booked the Room Notre Dame on the 4th floor and had a fantastic view of the cathedral. The room was what was expected, size wise, and it had a standing shower, safe, small desk, and some chairs.
The bed was comfortable, and the curtains suitably blocked out any light from the street and the sun. We did not have any issues with noise from the street, but we also sleep with a white noise machine. The walls are thin, and we could sometimes hear our neighbors, but it's an older building, and we were hardly in our room.
Note that you have to walk up stairs to get to the reception, but we saw them help other guests with their heavier luggage if needed. There is a small elevator from the reception floor that goes to the rest of the floors above.
There is a breakfast that you can either book with your room or purchase in the morning.
There are a TON of restaurants, cafes, and things to see and do within easy walking distance to the hotel, and it was great to have the hotel so conveniently located if we needed to take a quick rest from a long walk or a large meal.
The only thing we wish there was, was some extra hooks in the bathroom to hang our towels, but we ultimately were fine without them.
We are coming back in the fall, after the Olympics, and we have already rebooked the hotel for that visit.
The hotel itself is accessed up a flight of stairs, there is no lift at this point, but I'm sure staff would assist with luggage if needed. The décor throughout the hotel is quirky, but it I liked it, lots of bright colours, patterns and textures. There is a small lift to all the bedroom floors, we found coming back down the stairs much quicker. The stairs also are different, in that each is carpeted in changing colours.
Breakfast is continental with tea / coffee, orange / apple juice, yogurt, breads and pastries.

Very clean, well-kept and colorful.
Breakfast was very tasty, you get a plate with a piece of baguette, croissant, chocolate roll and coffee cake with tasty quality butter. Also different types of jam, yogurt and coffee, tea, apple juice or orange juice.
Very friendly staff and friendly staff.
Yes the rooms are absolutely tiny and there is a bit of street noise - but this is what happens when you are staying in a historic building in the middle of Paris! The windows do a great job of keeping the noise to a minimum, and the space was fine for a couple enjoying a short stay.
Also we discovered the RER B line runs right next to the hotel so you can zip straight to CDG Airport without any transfers, which is super handy.
This hotel is good value for Paris - book a corner room with a Notre Dame view if you can, and open up the windows to enjoy a breeze, great view, and the sounds of this fantastic city.

Yes the elevator was on the small side
Yes the floor sloped slightly
Yes the shower was a fixture on the bath
So...you have to walk up some stairs....which made me happy every day, they are carpeted in various beautiful colours
The bedroom was spotless, our cleaner was charming
The elevator made us laugh, but accepted it was an old building and they'd obviously tried hard to get it to fit in at all - so be grateful!
We loved the sloping floors, just added to the amazing character of the building
Okay breakfast didn't blow us away, but for 10 € is was just fine
There are loads of restaurants within the area, one of which we were recommended by the young gentleman on reception, best best steak!!! Le petit chatelet.
Thank you for our amazing stay

The location is brilliant - 20 min walk to the Louvre and a few short metro stops from the Eiffel Tower and Gare du Nord. Lots of lovely little restaurants round and about too.
Definitely recommended if you like something a bit out of the ordinary
