I was looking for a clean, quiet, reasonably-priced hotel in central Paris for a business trip, and this filled the bill. I was on the second floor. My room got plenty of light, and Bailly is a small side street off a major thoroughfare, which meant that the noise level at night wasn't a problem. The bed and the linens...

Stayed here after a family reunion and had an extra night in Paris. It's just the right place if you're looking for something simple, not expensive, and Le Marais. Not far from Centre Pompidou (I prefer walking), and just next to the Metro, with nice cafes around, Ecole Centrale's location is wonderful (even better for Paris first-timers). Reception area +...

Concur w previous reviews- upper level room was actually quite dark, lower level room better lighting w exposed beam = save 20e if you're just using as crash pad. Not working tv, worst bed ever! Importantly, daytime service will not be able to help w orientation, ie didn't even know which public buses were nearby! + price for area, which...

New mattress covers are ordered and will be in all Hotel Ecole Centrale rooms the 13th of June of 2012 for our guests confort. To come to the hotel, the best way is by metro to Arts & Métiers station in front of the hotel or bus 20 or 29. Our hotel is in a quiet street which is very...

If you are looking for a Paris neighborhood with lots of activity, cafes and little stores right outside your door or a hotel with wonderfully decorated French rooms this is probably not the best choice for you. But, if you are looking for a clean, comfortable, simple room in a good location, you will probably like this hotel. The bathroom...

Dear Cathy, Thanks to say our hotel is confortable, clean and quiet as we are making the best to do so. We are in the centre of Paris at the beginning of the Marais area with walking access to Pompidou center, Notre Dame de Paris, Picasso museum and "le Louvre". I stayed three nights in December and returned for four nights this May. This hotel has a fabulous location in the Marais, within walking distance of many sights and minutes from numerous metro lines. The rooms are generously sized for Paris (even the lowest priced ones) with renovated modern bathrooms, all very clean and well appointed. Free wi-fi worked well....

This hotel is very well located in the Marais. Apart from that, we got an excellent deal on the prices (70 euro a night compared to the normal price of 150euro for the same room...) so it was very worth it. Service was mediocre and unfriendly. We caught the staff sleeping once while we had to wait for someone to...

I stayed 2 nights here, and the location is great. The hotel is on a quiet little side street on the edge of the Marais district, and the Arts et Metiers metro station is only a stone's throw away. The hotel isn't trendy or chic, but it has a fun and funky vibe. The staff were OK - at least...

Staying in Le Marais

Neighbourhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendour. This neighbourhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
