Only stayed at this hotel one night on our way back home. I wouldn't categorize this as the regular hotel one is used to. It doesn't have a lobby or common areas, as a matter of fact, the front desk is just a little desk on one side of the restaurant, but then again, who needs that when you are...

I stayed for a very brief but busy 2 nights at the wonderful Hotel Edgar this month. Small but charming, excellent restaurant, with lots of competition nearby. Best of all was the marvellous attention and kindness of all the staff. To rip off someone else's term "Ab Fab".

It was the most unique hotel i have seen in terms of design. Each room i heard was decorated differently. Not all people might appreciate it though. I loved our room with the lights in the bathroom. This might not be the hotel for people with small kids though

This Restaurant is just fantastic in every way right from the moment that we arrived till the moment we left the food is different to all the Bistros in Paris they specialise in Seafood but with a twist The service is impeccable and they are super friendly we grazed our way through there menu and they suggested things they thought...

I know my post is super late, but better late than sorry. I have to say that Hotel Edgar is one of the best hotels I stayed in Paris thus far. I usually travel to Paris twice a year and stay in hotels around St. Germaine, but this time I wanted something different. The commute from Charles de Gaulle Airport...

Good location, a few blocks from the metro in Montorgueil. Very close to Stoher, best eclair in Paris and the inventor of Baba au rum. Rooms are decorated in a modern style, good size for Paris. The fish restaurant downstairs is very good.

For some reason, I seem to have difficulties finding the right place for brunch, a place with a pleasant decor, scrumptious and innovative food and attentive and friendly service. I found places where 2 of the elements where present, never the 3 so far. And often it is the service that I find disappointing. Well not here, I went there...

I lived in Paris ten years ago and visit 1-2 times a year but have never been in this little area where Hotel Edgar is. I'm glad to have visited. It's not a touristy area, nope, but it's an area going through regeneration - with the odd restaurant, bar and lovely hotel like this one. And also, you're only 5...

I spend 10-15 nights a month in hotels, mostly large corporate chains. They could learn what authentic service and personality looks like from Hotel Edgar. Even though the hotel restaurant had long queues on most evenings, the wait staff took time to explain to me (in English) details about each and every menu item, and offered me small tastings of...

Great place to stay for a long-weekend with friends, but do not expect an upscale and very posh hotel experience. It is more cool, trendy and laid-back, the reception is squeezed in between the very hip and happening restaurant and the toilet, a funny and strange solution, but very space efficient. The rooms are also very space efficient, and very...

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighbourhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighbourhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theatres, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
