This hotel could easily be a 5 star; if it weren't for a few minor inconveniences.
It is in the perfect location for getting around Paris by bus or train. It was a pleasure to walk across to their Monoprix (supermarket) which carried all you...More
Although it was a little bit difficult to locate the entrance (a somewhat nondescript door next to the restaurant patio), I found the the Hotel du Lion the perfect place to stay during my 2012 Trip.

Location next to many restaurants, bakeries, grocery stores and public transport (several metro lines and RER station that takes you, e.g. to airport), is ideal.

The namesake tower of Montparnasse dominates over the landscape but the fun part is the throbbing life that goes on below it. Bright lights, busy cinemas, brasseries and diners encompass hidden museums and parks to entertain the masses. Long avenues lead away from the tower to take you to unsuspecting places and historical monuments and treasures. In between lie adorable ivy-covered houses with beams and small
gardens to match. Just a short metro ride away from the centre of Paris this neighbourhood has something for every hour of the day.

Yes, there are a two rooms with an Eiffel Tower view on the top floor. One in the corner and the other on the north-northeast side of the building. Although not a direct view, you can simple look to the left and see the Eiffel tower in the distance. It is actually a very nice view.

Hi, the other two reviewers were right. You first have to climb stairs before getting to the reception. The elevator is facing the reception and I never had problems with it. I was there last year and I will be 61 years now and had no problems with the stairs, but it depends on the physical aptitute of your parents. Shouldn't be such a problem if they are ok. Hope this helps. Room was good for the price and the location very good.
