I stayed at this hotel in June 2010 and will return in May 2012. 2010 was my first trip to Paris and I found the accomodations much nicer than I had expected. I had heard that rooms in Paris were tiny and mine was pleasantly roomy and very clean. The hotel staff was fabulous. The young gentlemen at the front...

This hotel was recommended by the Telegraph as a good cheap Paris hotel. It is. Great location a couple of blocks back from busy Bde St Germain on a quiet square. Good sized rooms and bathrooms. Very basic accommodation but clean and well presented. The staff spoke English and were most polite. If budget is your priority, this is your...

We had 5 people in our party and it was the height of the summer tourist season. So my comments are based on those circumstances. We know Paris is expensive. But the room sizes, the bathroom sizes!, and the lack of any noise insulation whatsoever between rooms. . .terrible. Shockingly expensive for the extremely cramped conditions, lack of towels, and...

My wife and I stayed here five nights. The room was clean and adequate, but the location was perfect. The hotel is close to a metro stop and the neighborhood does not feel touristy. Great bakeries, cafes, and restaurants are a short walk away. The only downside was the lack of air conditioning.

I love St. Germain because there is so much to do and see, which are all in walking distance from this hotel. But I was terribly disappointed with the overall size of the room, and the decor. The only plus was that the bathrooms were clean and recently renovated, but there was virtually no space for luggage. The price per...

I would not recommend this hotel. The room was uncomfortable and the bathroom was terribly laid out. I suggest staying in a different part of the city and getting more value for your money.

For a hotel in this price range it rates well. Quiet setting and clean rooms with very helpful and friendly staff. The location is perfecr for visiting almost every thing - we walked to the Louvre, Notre Dame, Musee d'Orsay easily. The neighbourhood had many cafes and restaurants to choose from in all price ranges. The Luxembourg Gardens are one...

If you are looking for a basic place to stay in the Luxembourg Gardens area of Paris, the Mchelet Odeon is a good choice. The prices are a bargain for Paris, and the rooms are clean. There is free internet, but everything else (coffee for example) is an extra charge. Because this is the Latin Quarter, expect some noise late...

We stayed at this hotel for four nights, our room was fine, great bed and wonderful bathroom. I thought it was excellent value for money, yes breakfasts are ridiculous price buy hey it's Paris. We had breakfast nearby for 10 euros which included an omelette. The location is excellent, right by the Luxembourg gardens and near so many excellent restaurants....

I booked here for four nights and have been looking forward to my stay until I read the review about the scabies. It is my third night here and so far no problems. Although I gave the hotel 3's I highly recommend it for it's location. I've been to Paris twice before and have stayed in different arrondissements, so I...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
