We stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. The staff were helpful and nice. The room it self was very nicely decorated. We got the room with the balcony and that was very nice treat to sit out on in the evenings and enjoy a glass a wine. Although the room is on the small side it did suit our...

We spent three days in this hotel. We had a room on the top floor which was very nice and clean. The bathroom was Incredibly spacious, the bed very confortable and the small balcony very romantic. We had also found a good deal on internet, thereefore the price was very convenient. The breakfast could be improved expecially for what room...

Our family just spent a week in Paris. We found hotel Le Placide on line. We loved this hotel. It is in a great location (across the street from Bon Marche and the Rue de Bac and very close to 2 metro stops). The staff could not be nicer or more helpful. They made great restaurant and museum recommendations that...

Le Placide is a small, quaint boutique hotel with just 18 rooms. Apparently, each room has a different color theme and mine was red. The room and bathroom were huge by Paris standards, with a window that opens into the street below. As it was a side road, I didn't find it noisy. The room was so spacious it easily...

Booked Le Placide for my 40th birthday, expensive but we felt it was lovely for a special treat. Quirky tiny lift and beautiful room, very comfy bed

Very helpful staff. Pleasing attention to detail with service and design. Excellent value for money. However, if budget is of concern, I'd recommend breakfasting elsewhere as this seemed over-priced and there are many cheaper, charming alternatives nearby.

A great boutique hotel in an excellent location of Saint Germain. The ambiance is warm and rooms are well designed with great attention to details. The size of the room is luxury as most of similar hotels have much smaller in size. Owner and staff are very attentive and always there for you. Thanks again for the hospitality.

We liked this hotel especially because is very different from the traditional hotels you can find in Paris. Each floor has only 2 rooms. Each room has a huge "open" bathroom aprox of the same size of the rest of the room. Furnitures are glamour, trendy, modern and .....white!!!!. Good service and decent breakfast. A bit expensive but ok if...

We stayed there for 4 nights during fashion week and we were pleased with it. We felt very cosy. It was like being home. The rooms are very nicely decorated. I loved the wallpaper which was very relaxing. The bathroom was nice and so was the bedroom. We could hear our neighbours at times, but it is to be expected...

My wife, my daughter and stayed in the hotel a couple of times as we liked its location but this time we have been really disappointed with many things: - the level of service is completely poor as due to a late arrival of our flight to Paris, we checked in at 1.30am and we have requested a couple of...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
