My husband and I stayed for three nights in early June. Our experience was first rate. The hotel was clean and elegant, the staff was friendly and helpful, and restaurants recommended were excellent and off the tourist track. We have been in Paris a number of times but enjoyed this hotel experience the most. Great find!

Ok, I'm probably similar to most people reading this, I have stayed in hundreds of hotels round the world both with business and pleasure. I concluded that what makes this hotel so good, is the staff - they are simply very very good. One lady in particular (I think her name was Patricia, but I could be wrong) was very...

We enjoyed our stay at Academies et des Arts. It's a botique hotel and is well-kept. Service was good, as we found the staff to be very helpful with any request (directions, dinner reservations, sights, etc.) - especially Henri, who went out of his way with recommendations (thanks Henri). Le Reminet for dinner was very good and had a nice...

My husband and I just got back from Paris and I have to say this Hotel was the best hotel I have ever stayed at in Europe. I read reviews saying that the rooms were small, but they were by far the biggest rooms we have ever stayed at in Europe. The room was extremely clean and well maintained and...

Although the weather was unseasonably cold and damp, the service we received from the staff helped to make our four day stay memorable. No surprises regarding the size of the room but its the quality and cleanliness that counts. The location in Montparnesse proved ideal for getting around the sights - three Metro stations within easy walking distance. Many restaurants...

From the first moment that you put your feet on the hotel you already know that is a special hotel. Laurent gave to us a great welcome explained all the places that we could visit, restaurants for dinner at the area.... We could choose between two rooms, both of them fantastic, we decided to be in a interior one with...

Worth every cent! After a hard debate on which hotel we would stay at while in Paris my bestfriend and I finally decided on Hotel des Academies et des Arts, specifically after finding this little gem on tripadvisor. We bought multiple tour guide books and researched the hotels listed in those and decided to abandon the books and roll the...

Although not the cheapest hotel in Paris, we were seriously impressed with the Hotel des Academies et des Arts. Prior to our arrival, we had messed them around with our reservation, due to my work commitments, and had cancelled and uncancelled at least twice! But we were still greeted to the most lovely of welcomes. The staff were naturally friendly,...

Liz and I were impressed with the management and staff of the hotel. There care and attention was truly outstanding. The manager, Henri, personally visited the police station where we were reporting a robbery on the Metro to see if we were okay. The staff were exceptionally caring and attended to all of our needs instantly and always in a...

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighbourhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighbourhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighbourhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.

“We upgraded to one of the deluxe rooms, which I recommend if you're looking for a little more room or have a lot of luggage. It was very comfortable for our three large bags and two people, but the room sizes generally are definitely smaller than you'll see in the states! I think the small rooms would have been too small for us.”
