We were sent to this hotel as a back up because our first choice was having plumbing problems apparently. When we first walked in we were in shock. We did NOT want to stay here, it looked gross, and the bed was so uncomfortable. We left, bringing our things, hoping to find a different hotel but everything in that area... More

Stayed here for three nights in Summer...yes the room was small and very basic but this is Europe and for the location and price you can't expect anything else. The room was pretty clean but a bit dark, dingy and not really welcoming. It was at the top of a narrow, creaky wooden staircase (5 floors?) and was the sort... More

The rooms are old and the street is noisy.Towels small and stairs are steep. Plusses for me were next to river and chatallet tube bang central. Linnen although dated was absolutely clean. Staff were freindy and I would return there. Good for a solo traveller.

Once I arrived at this hotel I was so disappointed at myself for not researching better. I am sure I could have got better for what I paid. This hotel is ridiculously over price and doesn't even provide basic comforts such as shampoo and towels?! You are provided with one hand towel per person which feels like sand paper and... More

Once a former mental institution just down the street from the Louvre, now the Hotel Pont Neuf is a schwaggy (not swanky) place to stay. Historical tributes to it's past include institutional flooring, beds, windows, bed linens, and half sized towels that double as sand paper. Improvements that weren't allowed in it's old days include a shower and toilet: both... More

As a single female travelling in Paris, I originally booked four nights at the Hotel du Pont Neuf. The first night was reasonable, though you can easily find a better hotel for a comparable price. The shower is truly too small to turn around in and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The second night, one of the hotel staff used... More

The location is the most amazing thing about this place! a 5 minute walk to the Louvre.... what more could you ask for? The rooms are ok... expect nothing great. The bathroom is a bit cramped. We had a room on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator so hauling bags all the way up was an inconvenience but... More

Room very small not like the photo, no lifts/elevator, decor poor, clean sheets & towels daily, no tea/coffee facilities, bathroom very very small. \wouldnt go back. Ideal for the centre of Paris & close the metro etc.

I really had certain doubts if it was a good idea to choose the hotel after reading some of the reviews, but nevertheless I tried and bingo! We (all family) had wonderful time. The rooms are small but clean, beds are very comfy, linen spotless. Surprisingly small bath ( smaller than I could have imagined), but it served well. No... More

Okay, so the room was small and looking at the ceiling from the bed, I thought it was shaped like the state of Oklahoma. Okay, so the weather was beastly hot when we were there and there's no A/C. (But a fan was provided and the windows open wide, unlike our experience in a "modern" hotel in the UK. where... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighbourhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
