A quiet, unpretentious, hotel, very well-situated for walks through Père Lachaise cemetery, walks into central Paris, transport (métro, buses, motorway), restaurants. The rooms are ok and requests for a quiet room (sometimes essential in Paris) are easily accommodated, although perhaps on a higher floor and in a smaller room, so be sure to indicate all your needs at once. Private,...

We booked this online and weren't too sure what to expect but we were very pleasantly surprised. It is great value for money and the staff are what made it even more special. They went out of their way to make sure that we knew where the local bus and metro stations were and gave us the number of the...

An amazing little hotel. Absolutely will stay here again and again. Arrived and was guided to free parking. While the elevator was only big enough for 1 person / 1 suitcase at a time it was no bother. The room was quaint and clean. The host Maher was so helpful. The nicest and most informative of anyone during our 2...

We stumbled upon this hotel by chance and cannot fault the staff. They were so polite and couldn't do enough for us. The room was spacious and comfortable and there was a large bathroom with a bath and shower. Even though the hotel is on a busy road the double glazing keeps the noise at bay. The hotel is so...

This is listed as a 2 star hotel, but is easily a 3 star. The location is superb, in an area full of shops and restaurants but with very little noise, and takes about 15 minutes to reach by Metro from the Gare Du Nord. About 100 yards from the hotel is an entrance to Pere Lachaise Cemetary, which is...

This budget hotel is in a very pleasant budget hotel in the 20th arrondissement, near the Père Lachaise cemetery. Its location is located perfectly away from the heart of the tourists' Paris but only a few minutes by Metro to everything a tourist would want to see. Staying in this neighborhood gives you more of a sense of ordinary Paris,...

Helpful, efficient, well-located and clean --what more can one want? Not deluxe, and more of a lobby might be nice but..... Outstanding WIFi--far better than local Marriott and free. Responsive helpful staff, taxi rank and Metro right outside the door. Street backs up to Pere Lachaise cemetery. Interesting diverse gentrifying neighborhood, far more accessible to even a non-French speaking tourist...

Staying in Belleville / Pere Lachaise

Neighbourhood Profile
Belleville / Pere Lachaise
At the eastern edge of Paris lies Belleville / Père Lachaise, an understated wonderland of local treasures. Alongside the world-famous cemetery, family-owned delicatessens and cafés nestle between local stores and establishments. The richness of the population here has created a little Chinatown of Asian restaurants, and the area comes to life at night by a funky underground scene. Façades change from one street to another as one passes from white walled provincial homes to tall blocks and reconverted homes. The whole area is an inspirational mix of people from all corners of the world frequented by artists, students, immigrants, and Parisian families. Once home to supporters of the Paris commune, its rebellious nature is now offset by its rural charms.
